  • so - am thinking about the future this morning and our dream to go to the countryside before the end of this year and did some browsing of job boards down south in the area we want to move to and found one I could apply for - for 5k more than I currently get!

My question is - should I go for it? I don't want to move jobs - an scared about maternity cover etc elsewhere but if I didn't and my boss refused for me to work from home a few days a week when we moved outside of london it wouldn't be financially viable to keep my job anyway!

Need some advice - do i need to grow some kahunas and get outside my comfort zone and apply for the job (even though we couldn't realistically move til October) or hold out in the hopes of my boss agreeing to flextime where I am and the hassle/cost of commuting to London a few days a week? argh!!!:eek:

advice from my lovely MSE-ers much appreciated!
    xx

  • hellloooooo fellow DFWs!!!

Well - today is the usual tidy up day so just popping in to catch up with everything going on! :)

Currently using up the stockpiles for the prospective house move - due (all going to plan) in October - OH's job is going well and he has lots of overtime planned for next weekend which means more money in the pot for the moving fund!

Did my first Orchard at Tesco shop yesterday - got us 32 quids worth of stuff for only 8 pounds - very chuffed! Spent most of the day writing up the reviews for them! phew! glad I got it over with!

Feeling very positive about everything (touch wood) even though we aren't paying off debts we aren't creating more at the moment - which is the most important thing, and got a call from the recruitment agents the other day about that job I applied for so keep your fingers crossed for me!

Keep looking on rightmove at the type of places we could be living in when we move and feel so excited - we'll have a garden for sure and some extra space will be great!

We're eating up all our stockpiles at the moment so we don't have to lug them when we move and doing some general de-cluttering - I hope the zombie apocalypse isn't imminent - would be just my luck to eat all our stockpiles and then the end of the world starts!!!! :):)

hope you're all having a lovely lazy Sunday?

Oooooooooo!! Possible new job!! That's awesome C-R! I hope it all goes well. It sounds like a good opportunity for you and you so deserve it. x

I think you are right too - there is something very satisfying about just maintaining a situation and knowing that no matter how tough it gets, you are not going to make it worse. You have some serious determination my friend! I admire it greatly!

Hope your new kitty is settled and loved up and that hubby is not considering throwing in the towel at his new job any time soon......or we might all need to convene on London with some hot chocolate and a few boxes of Lindt to keep you sane! x
