Holy crapola!! An awards ceremony?! Seriously! Man that's just wrong. Obviously they are making enough money harassing and terrifying people. I'm disgusted. Makes you want to stage a protest! We should hold an MSE Awards ceremony - and one of the categories can be "DFW who stuck it to the DCAs most"!!!

I swear I'm going to remain appalled all day!

  • Hello! Hi WABL and Hok3y!!!

Apologies for being away!!!! I've not really been anywhere! Just hunkering down building up those NSDs and cleaning up the flat which looked like a bomb site leaving the OH for a few days last week!!!:eek:

Hok3y-today was no worries! Made sure I didn't wear a skirt for comedy value on the way into work but just a nice, much quieter walk in that usual!! :j. Hope you're having a lovely time with your son? :D

My cheque is cashed and waiting for it to turn up on my balance from the PPI claim and OH got 44 quid back from experian who we thought we'd cancelled in august but they hadn't which is great! :j waiting for that to come in but somehow were a bit low with our rent stash for next month-which we should be able to cover but it will make things tight next month, hmmm, I find it really tricky to do a spend notebook but I've been keeping all my receipts and might actually try and work out where the money went-I spent no money and OH hasn't had a haircut so hmmm?!

Going to give MMF a go in November, so need to get a letter sent to them-I sent one prove it letter-going to send another one (with our address on it :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:) and try again!!!!!!!! Then negotiate a F&F (fingers crossed). Aim is no more spends til November now-can't believe how this month has flown by! Had great aims to do some early Xmas shopping but got none done! But it should b ok-most of the stuff can be got online in a few hours! :D

Hope everyone is good? Sorry-not a very entertaining post this one!!!! Except maybe-went out on Friday night for first time in about a year! Spent no money but it was one of those awkward nights when a few too many former flirtations are in the room at the same time!!!!! Eek!! Needless to say! I was a good girl and didn't get into trouble but at least I had fun for a few hours! Having someone pay attention to your for a few hours really does boost a girls confidence especially when sometimes I feel me and the OH have been together so long we're too settled-if you get what I mean? The frissant is still there-it's just more cola fizz than popping candy! :o:o

Hmmm-something tells me becoming debt free will provide a serious boost to reclaiming that passion as at the moment we agree debt busting is not living it's surviving but I am still sure this is the way to do it-high pressure for swifter results.

    Yes we can! Hoorah! :j
Well maybe there was some gossip insight after all!! :p
Have a good night people! I promise to be more regular with my postings again!!!!
    Xx

  • thank you shinner!! :D

I'm so annoyed! I dawdled over doing a big te8co shop and now the 50p pack of wholewheat pasta is back up to 1 quid a pack! noooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooooo!!!:eek::eek::eek::eek:

how can I justify the cost?!!!
I just can't do it! So now I'm going to wait a few days til the new month's offers kick in and hopefully someone will have cheaper wholewheat pasta - please?!!! If the cheap pasta gods are listening please grant me my wish!! :p

So back to the drawing board with the grocery shop and the meal planning - Ninja Saving Kat has only left us 5 days next month in the Just Say NOvember challenge to do our purchases on so really need to think about ALL aspects of the food shop before purchasing - including cleaning products, toiletries (got no conditioner left) AND snacks! Snacks are usually our downfall so have to think long and hard on this one!

hmmmmmm - thinking cap on C-R, thinking cap on!
Could be time for some freezer meal planning extraordinaire! :p

hope everyone is having a good evening - it's a bit chilly!! :snow_grin

haha! HOK3Y you made me laugh!!!!!!
The pizza gods AND the pasta gods too!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Yep - that's right - my signature shows i've already made a payment or two using my November funds!

Whoop! whoop! Start as you mean to go on! :j:j:j

My aim for November - whoop that debt's !!! yo! ;):D

I'm going to treat us to a hallowe'en fish and chips (I've been craving for WEEKS secretly) and a bottle of booze and then we're going to celebrate with the 'really' live ghost hunt which is online with Yvette Fielding! Yay! :j

While watching I'll also be finalising our big shop (buy it today so it's not counted as a November spend mwahahaha) and also checking it's realistic for only 5 days of shopping for the month!

Hope everyone else will be having a great and spooky hallowe'en?

    xx

You go for it, C-R!! Bust those debts' @$$!!!!!!! :D Hey, step aside and I'll give them a kick on your behalf!

Feels darn good to pay them down, doesn't it! Enjoy your fish and chips - I've already explained to hubby that I am having a toffee apple at bonfire night......and I won't apologise for it!

  • OK - so - I apologise in advance as this has the feelings of being a loooong post! :)

Firstly though - HOK3Y my goodness the fish and chips were a-mah-zing!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl: my goodness what a way to spend hallowe'en! but didn't think much of Really's live stream ghost hunt! blooming wonky lamp shade is all i can say! ;)

Waiting for the grocery shops to come later on today (the only slots left) and hoping there will be enough freezer space for everything - although there is nothing in there except 1 forlorn looking bag of value veg! :D

so before that I should do some cupboard tidying to make space for everything and put some beans into jars which I've been saying i'll do for months now!

letters are drafted and ready to go on Monday - will have to use it as one of my spending days - so precious!! - but need to kick this all off now as I think it's too late to arrange any payments for this month I'm thinking of throwing the money at the OH's final c/card and my c/card too! get it below 1000 with the PPI money as well.

Me and OH have had a chat and we're going to cancel 2 of his c-cards which we have paid off but just keep 1 as a back up for him (limit maximum of 500 quid) which he can use for his haircuts and repay! :D

Once I've got my HSBC one down I'm going to lower the limit on that one from 1700 to 500 and do the same.
With the halifax one I'm unsure what to do - the limit is 3,300 which is ridiculous! So once that is one is paid off I might lower that to 1,000 as our super emergency card (but still pay-offable in full in 1 month's pay).

I'm sure if the balances are zero it's better for me not to have the temptation there, just hope it doesn't impact the glorious old 'credit score'! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Me and OH agreed we would get each other stocking-filler gifts to a max of 15 quid each - lots of little things so we can do lots of unwrapping! but i've been reading the lakeland calatogue they sent me and there is so much nice stuff in there! *swoon*

but NO - next year we will do xmas like you wouldn't believe - once we've saved up for it across the year! - and it will be magnificent but this year we need to be reasonable and it will still be magical! :D

other than that the impatience is unbearable!!!!!!!! Paid off as much as I can so far - just need to wait for the rest of the utilities to go out and then I can add more money to credit card repayments - yes, this month shall be dubbed Credit Cardvember!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

and we're getting closer to doing our final stock-take of the year. Not sure whether to include December in a new challenge for myself or to kickstart the new one in January? hmmm! The symmetry of starting in January seems better!

I've come up with the new name btw - it's a variant of this one:
9 grand in 6 months Challenge

Going to be MUCH more tricky but then it's meant to be a challenge after all!!!!! :D

right - should really look at those cupboards- one of them scares me in case a mouse runs out and bites my hand in the darkness!!:eek::eek::eek: :rotfl:
