Hehe! Thank you HOK3Y and thank you Shelbi!!! :hello:!!!!
Today has been spent playing with my spreadsheet and trying to work out the next steps-obviously the wongka double default is a priority-also my 'favourite' DCA -MMF :mad::mad: the default is actually still registered with lending stream so I'm going to send them a letter-if they say they've sold on the debt then I'll have to deal with the bottom feeders  haha!!!!! Gotta love my life!!!!!!
If I can get those two sorted by end of December we could be looking at a value of closer to 10k debt left than 12k which would be absolutely stupendous but very very hopeful!!!!!! So it's not an official aim! 12k would still be brilliant
Just holding out for the 31st now so we get paid-also got 500 put aside for OH's MOT in November-hoping it's no more than 300 and we can put the rest to paying off the aqua card. I don't want to jinx us though!!!
Aiming for two SFDs now til Wednesday-tomorrow will be a battle to get back 36 quid East Midlands took from my account for tickets that weren't given to me - oh the joy!!!!!!!! Money will not be taken from my account my bottom!!!!!!!!!!
Hop everyone has a lovely evening-I'm not-the dog has just done a bottom burp and is currently asphyxiating me!!!! :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:

Oh C-R that has to be the most positive and happy post I have read all day, possibly month! Long may it continue! (Dog's gaseous emissions excepted........lol!)

hehe! thank you HOK3Y!!!!!
well - very surprising but already the cheque has come through the post from Halifax for 797 quid - it's a shame as I wanted i to go onto the Halifax c-card. but OH opened the envelope and guess what he said - 'i want you to think about it - holiday'!!!!:eek::eek: noooo!!! He was doing so well!!!
but now the question is - should I actually pay this towards the HSBC instead because it's got the higher APR even though the balance is a grand lower? hmmm not sure now! I know one thing - it's not going on anything that isn't a debt!! Except maybe - we do need to do a te8co shop so 50 could go towards that to soften the blow next month as I think we paid off quite a bit and have creeped into the rent money a bit!! :rotfl:
hmmm, will cash it on Thursday and go from there!!! Time for a quick 40 mins nap with the dog them supper! I love my life!!:cool:Debts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -
Yes, you obviously do and it shines through in your posts! So happy that your cheque is already in your hands. I would pay off HSBC with the higher APR but that's just me. Do whatever feels right to you - it is bonus pennies after all. Maybe OH needs to think on the whole thing a little more! Plenty of pennies for holidays later.....just not now!
Big hugs Honey! XCredit Card Freedom gained 14 Feb 2014!!Total Debt Freedom gained 29 Apr 2014!!Savings goal 30/9/23: £72,000/£538,001.....yes I'm serious!Total Debt August 2013: [STRIKE]$21,587[/STRIKE] April 2014: $0!!!!:j0 -
hello lovely HOK3Y!!!!
Hope you had a good time fish and chipping - was it tonight?
I am going to look at my spreadsheet - my hsbc is currently at 1500 so if I put the 800 to it, it will be almost closed - ahead of time! which would work - having a debt closed is nice for my psychological well-being!!! and give us an extra 100 quid a month!!! (to put towards the halifax card maybe?)
The OH - he's a funny one, he does a job he hates - tends to fall out of love with jobs at the 18 month itch stage, but because he agrees we need to pay the debt he's willing to do what maybe he wouldn't have done a few years ago and is going to stick with it rather than quit. For this in itself I'm extremely grateful - it shows he's growing up finally at 35 :rotfl::rotfl::rotfl: and that he understands his responsibilities and me rather than just himself!
but I do feel a bit bad - he's talked about going away and getting married abroad all by ourselves - in lapland or somewhere snowy next christmas so maybe i should tell him let's make that a reality and save for it once we're debt free? He's just an impulsive pisces and i'm a slow, plodding taurus - we really just have different approaches!! :rotfl::rotfl:
ps - it wasn't a 40 minute nap!!!:eek::eek::eek: so fear I won't be able to sleep now!!
I just want to say though after reading other diaries this afternoon - how glad I am that we have relatively 'small' debts - it lends itself to self-motivation, lots of small debts, all under 2000 each that can be paid off within a month or two at least by us ATM - if I had a large sum I had to save for, I don't know if I'd be able to not spend it on other things. But then - I'm building for a future where the only debt we have is a mortgage (lets ignore the student loan!!!!!!!!!!) and everything we buy is ours not someone elses's. Let's pray that day remains within sight!
I'm going to go and scare myself with a scary ghost programme! At least I've got the dog to keep me safe!!!!
nite lovely MSE'ers! xDebts @ LBM (May 2013): £25,250.27 | Debt Free: May 2015 :j:j0 -

wow are you married to the same man as me :rotfl::rotfl: my dh is a nightmare for getting bored at work too and has recently told me I am bullying him into staying  thing is I just know he will regret leaving and he always gets like this when there isn't much fun stuff to do at work!

wow! I feel sick - I just found out that DEBT COLLECTION AGENCIES have an AWARDS night each year where they celebrate peoples' misery!!! : http://www.debtcollectionawards.co.uk/content/finalists
and who is there in the finalists list for debt purchaser of the year:
Motormile finance :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad:
these people should not be congratulated on anything - they are thieving low-lifes who send my OH text messages at 10pm stating how they're going to assess his living standards!!!:mad::mad:
I don't really mind paying off the debt I owe - I understand I need to pay them back, but there is just something about this particular company (which is probably 1 man and a machine sending out automated calls and emails) that really gets my goat!!!!!!!!!!!!
Phew, OK, hello DFW321!!!!!
Lovely to see you again - ps - saw the kitkat cake on your board - ah-mah-zing!You are a superstar - you'd be the best mum ever if you made me that for my birthday!
I'm scared if our OHs ever met there would be some sort of space-time issue as they are the same person!!! Dopplegangers?!! :rotfl::rotfl: Aren't men funny sometimes?! I think now I can chose I will put it towards the HSBC card (highest apr) and try and pay it off before end of 2013 - that really would be a bonus!
wont be able to cash the cheque til thursday but can't wait to use it to pay towards the credit card!
phew! such a shock seeing that awards thingy! to be a fly on the wall at that scuzzy get-together!!!!:cool::cool:
