  • Hello my lovelies!!!!!!!!!

Can I get a whoop whoop!!!!!
I have today paid off THREE DEBTS!!!!!! :j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j:j

    Vanquis - 389.69 paid - balance now at 0
    Capitalone - 388.23 paid - balance now at 0

DCA - accepted HALF of the original debt - letter coming in the post to confirm it is going to be 'settled' rather than 'partially settled' on the credit report and the money will not be chased for the rest of the debt.

    EEEEK!!!!!
    Check out that signature!!!! :D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D:D

    Only bad part?

OH saying 'get out the cards - let's cut them up' - which kinda made me need to tell him I chopped them up which thankfully he's taken well!!!!

And the bank not authorising his payment so he had to call them up to confirm he wanted to pay the DCA!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl: We'll be accused on money-laundering next no doubt!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

Thank you all so much for your kind words and thoughts of us this evening!!!!

Feel as though we need to celebrate! But also want to keep my NSD!!!!!! :rotfl::rotfl:

yep - WABL! It was initially Dec 2014 for a DFD - now I'm aiming for July 2014!!!! :D It'll be tight but that's my aim!!!!

Just to say - we caved in and got a takeaway to coelebrate but most important I gave in because(deep breath):

OH has had his lightbulb moment!!!!!!!!!!!!

He said he has seen the light and we need to pay off the debts!!!!!

Who thought you could actually be happy while tackling the debts? I am! Because you have to grasp every speck of light when you can!!!! We're not even half way there but this is so great!!! :j:j:j:j:j

    eek!!!!

  • WOW! Massive congratulations CR, what a fantastic day all round for you!

Enjoy that takeaway cos you definitely deserve it, and so does OH for having his LB moment.

Well done on bringing your dfd closer already too :j

I might start up a wee diary, once I've been back to the boards properly. Busy laying some groundwork to get some extra pennies rolling in and taking a wee leaf out of your cooking book and doing a few bulk meals.

Unfortunately my freezer is tiny so until I use up some of what's in there I'm doing a big meal that will last me 2 dinners and a lunch. Making them super tasty and varied so I don't fall back into the buying lunch trap, how does everyone else manage not to be tempted buy the awesome wee deli's and cake shops everyday?! :o
  • Delighted that your OH is on board...the journey is bound to be easier with the two of you working together.

Re the lunch thing..I work in a hospital so am not surrounded by lovely delis and coffee shops...if I was I would find it really hard too. I also happen to live about 100 yards from my work so can go home for lunch too...never realised I was so lucky until now :D
