Grocery Budget January £150/£175
Feb £150/0 -
Just been shopping to Asda with a list £84.79
I need to revise my list and choose cheaper groceries or visit more supermarkets. I am hoping that I have stuff left over that I can carry onto next week. It doesn't help that everyone is home all day it being the holidays and OH is off 2 days a week as well. I have still spent less than I normally would but I have already spent just about half of my budget and it's only Aug 5th
Definately making my own bread this week and rolls and cakes.0 -

Are the Lidl vouchers available via a paper or just something you've saved? xMSE-ing since 20070 -
Added to sig: £13.03 from Lidl
42p from Tesco.
I've set myself an interim target of £67 a week for all four of us, Yoda (the hamster) and night-time pull ups (currently on offer in Lidl - £2.99). I have £4.50 left and shouldn't *fingers crossed* need to do any more shopping until my new week starts on Thursday.
I was including the £5 a week I spend going to Slimming World as part of this but that would stretch me a little too tight and I've instead opted for a 6 week countdown out of bill money so I get 6 weeks for the price of 5 (and don't get out a break a tenner as that way I know I'll spend the fiver somehow).
This afternoon.... batch baking.MSE-ing since 20070 -

They are lovely, its a recipe I found on a baby led weaning site but I love them more than the wee man does and I'm not normally a lentils fan.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.

ikkle87 - Could I please have your recipe for cheesy lentil wedges? They sound exciting and right up my street!
In other news I've managed to put off my stocktake again today. Hmm, must try harder! I have tomorrow as a day off work so I'm going to do it then. Have no idea why I am still up now, on that note must get to bed!

They are from a BLW book but I love them.
8 oz red lentils
3/4 pint water
1 large onion
1 oz butter
4 oz grated cheese
1 tsp mixed herbs
1 egg
1 oz breadcrumbs
salt & pepper
Cook the lentils in the water until soft, and all the liquid is absorbed
Chop the onion finely and fry in the butter until soft.
Combine all the ingredients and press into an oiled 9″ tin.
Bake at Gas 5 for around 30 minutes.
Allow to cool slightly then cut into wedges
I don't like mixed herbs though so cook my lentils in chicken stock. They are nice with a salad for tea.You never know how strong you are until being strong is the only choice you have.
