Part of the Furniture 1,000 Posts I've been Money Tipped!
Spent 8.00 out of 2nd purse on spry crisp and dry cooking oil.
usually 3.49 they say on offer 2 for 4.00. I say they say because the 1 litre ones are only 1.50. I am not counting it in this months budget as it wont be needed for several weeks, also I have already counted the 50.00 I gave myself for NSDs.

Had 2 NSD's sunday and monday. Have lunch already boxed up for tomorrow and am going to cook a lentil soup for tomorrow night from HFW Veg cookbook and have HM gnocchi in freezer to make gnocchi in a roasted red pepper and basil pesto for wednesday night with salad so, fingers crossed no spends needed for dinners anyway.

Out thursday evening at the Fringe then off to my sis's for the weekend leaving OH and DD alone...hopefully they wont go mad at the sm:o

    Lots spent already

We needed a few bits yesterday to tide us over - OH spent £3.79 on 2 tubs of spread, milk, a doughnut and chocolate.

Then today he needed some extra food at lunch as we didn't have much in for his packed lunch, but he had no cash so had to spend £5 (well, he actually spent £5.01) to get to the minimum spend on card

Today we did our big shop. We spent £6 on 12 litres of coke at Waitrose. Then we did the normal shop at Tesco, spending £49.73, which is more than I wanted, but not horrific because we needed some bits we wouldn't have normally bought. We got: 2 tubs of frozen yogurt, 1 very small tub of ice cream, 1kg frozen mixed veg, frozen sweetcorn, Quorn chicken pieces, Quorn mince, a birthday cake, 2 apple pies, a bag of chocolate chip cookies, 2 slices of raspberry cheesecake, 18 (!!!) bananas, 6 apples, a melon, half a cucumber, 1 onion, 2 baking trays (ours were looking a bit worn), 2kg sweet potatoes, 4 jacket potatoes, a pack of chicken slices for sandwiches, 2 beef steaks, 5 tins of soup, a tin of mushy peas, 2 tins of chopped tomatoes, a tin of custard, a tin of spaghetti, a bottle of shampoo, a bag of pasta, 2 packets of pasta with sauce, 4 rolls of toilet paper, 2 bottles of squash, 1 packet of noodles, a block of cheese, pea and asparagus ravioli, 6 cereal bars, a packet of dried fruit and seeds, a loaf of bread, a packet of cheesy windmill bread, 4 sausage rolls, 15 yogurts, a pack of cheese triangles, brie, 6 eggs.

So a lot for the price, so I'm quite happy.

I'm going away for a few days next week (leaving OH to fend for himself :rotfl:), so hopefully no food shopping until Thursday, which is payday :T Should only be small shops for the rest of the month too.

    Total so far: £64.53
  • Hello Again,
Ok a little bit of background on me, and why i want to join this challenge :)
I live on my own, so cooking is just for me, but i always seem to have a huge amount of food in for just me, considering i am at work all day, so really its breakfast of cereals, lunch at work, usually a sandwich, wrap, left overs and then something for dinner. But i seem to spend about £200 a month on food and there is loads in my cupboards and freezers and i seem to throw food away which has to stop.
Can i please set a target budget for August for £70 please. its for food, cleaning, toiletries, but i have a stockpile of toiletries and cleaning products already so will hopefully come under this. My budget will run from 29.07.13 - 02.09.13 - eeking it out a little to make September easier.
    So far i have spent:
    29.07.13 Mr T -
    Carrots 49p (r)
    Milk 89p
    6 pk wholemeal wraps 11p (r) (F)
    Small loaf bread 9p (r) (F)
    6pk Fruited scones 11p (r) (F)
Brocolli and Green Beans 58p (r)
    Value Smoked Bacon £1.68

    30.07.13 - Mr M's
    2 x 500g Fresh spaghetti 35p (r) (F)

    01.08.13 - Market
    Apples 7 Fruits £1
    Strawberries 2 punnets for £1
    Raspberries 2 punnets for £1
    Peaches 6 for £1

    03.08.13 - Ald!
    Vine tomatoes 69p
    Corn on the cob 69p
    Chestnut Mushrooms 85p
    3pk Peppers 99p

    Mr M's
    4pint Milk 97p
    2 x 500g Utterly Butterly £1.20
2 x Extra Light Hellmans mayo £2 (stores)
    Lean mince Steak £1.78

So in theory i dont need anything until the weekend, if not later as i have veg in my dads garden, meat / fish in the freezer (another thread is beckoning) and staples in the cupboards.
My current total there fore is: £17.82 so £52.18 to last 27days.

If anyone has any tasty ideas that may help me use up my stores i will be posting on the 'i'm eating out the freezer and storecupboard challenge' thread and would love some inspiration.

Are the Lidl vouchers available via a paper or just something you've saved? x

They were just available for our store not nationwide.
