Not a good start to the month.
Went to do a stock take on 2nd Freezer, out in the back room, only to find the plug had been knocked and had to chuck food.
This is a whole load of meat that I bought YS last week thinking it would see me through the month - 2kg Beef Brisket, 500g Pork Mince, 250g Prawns, 500g Turkey Breast. All gone.
Was not a huge amount of value as far as only cost around £8 for all of it, but it is that it wont be replaced for that amount because it was the first time in about 6 months that I had got any decent YS meat from our local supermarkets.
Oh well, onwards and upwards, still hoping don't need to shop until next week, except perhaps a bag of flour.
August officially starts tomorrow for me, so still preparing at the moment.Mum of 2 monkey. 4 yrs and 2 yrs :j
Starting again...

Small spends to day as my OH was feeling deprived of kitchen rolls and sweeties so nipped to A*di and spent £6.05. He also bought milk, crisps, shower gel, ricecakes and yoghurts. I had to buy catfood as poor cat had nothing left so nipped to As*a after work and stripped the shelves of reduced stock. Also bought GF breakfast cereal, ricecakes, mushrooms, YS melon (37p), Big YS Yoghurt 24p,Vine tomatoes, a cucumber and spent £8.40.
So just under £50.00 for the first week. Have a £5 off a £35.00 shop at Morrisons to use at the weekend for next weeks shopping. I will be meal planning and will be armed with a list. Not much in the cupboards though so will have to be inventive!!Grocery challenge October: £228.28/£250.00 NSD 4 ( not completed)

Trying not to spend on food - need to buy paint for decorating.
Tonight we had smoked bacon + fried off roast potatoes + tomatoes + poached eggs + baked beans.

Made it,day 10 of NSP and 50.00 in second purse.
Only 15 days left to cater for as out for 5. I can do this from stocks with just a few things on shopping list. Must get some fresh milk so I can use up some boxes of cereal, bought for DGS but he stopped eating it.
Almost have a free drawer in freezer and an almost empty cupboard,
well nothing fell out on me when I opened it.:rotfl:Slimming World at target0 -
Oh Elsie love so sorry about your Mum but a lovely idea for the holiday, dont worry about not paying as much as others, for years I was the poor one in our family but am now able to actually pay for DD and GDD, mind you I am 68 next month, just make sure you give your Mum lots of hugs lots of giggles and make it a holiday to remember for her, and for you too. Will be thinking of you.
Hi Meg
Thanks so much for this, I really appreciate it.
I've actually had some fantastic news yesterday, which is a humongous pay rise! It was semi expected, but no idea of amount or when it would be, so yesterday all confirmed and good chance will apply for pay at end of this month! Had mum over for tea last night (I do every Thursday and we have a walk and chat then watch a film) and she is thrilled for me, it quite literally takes me from a salary I was on 5 years ago, to the highest salary I've ever earned, by a couple of k! Eek! I'm actually going to be well paid!!! I can't wait! So mum is now giving me a couple of hundred that I am taking on hol as my money, so sis will never know, so I'll be able to pay for a couple of meals out for us all and have spending money, yay! It's being added to what I owe them, but since I'll now be paying them off at a rate of knots and will be clear by feb 14 not mar 15 (!) then we are all happy ( as I hate owing them money!)
Really looking forward to holiday now, two weeks Sunday, yay!!!
Regards GC I'm not doing well, I've spent the bulk but have a full fridge etc so we will see how it goes!! I'll do a proper update on that either tonight or tomorrow
