Good morning everyone:wave:
I haven`t posted much, but have been lurking around. I managed to stay well within budget this week and made up for the BAD loss I made the week before, so i`m now on track again with my spends.
Another week and a bit to go for this month, but doing O.K. The kids are still at school for half of this week, so i`m hoping I can keep on track, but this might be a very different story for the next 6 weeks, due to the summer hols.Grocery Challenge 2013: July week 1 £90/£87.41

Emergency fund 2013 from june £700 -
Reporting a spend of £8.50 yesterday, only planned on getting milk but they had some good offers on in Co*p so got a few bits for the week - 1kg chicken drumsticks and thighs, 2ltr pepsi, buritos ready meal for two on YS (dont usually do ready meals, but ideal for lunches for my partner), 8 pints milk.
Whilst doing the roast dinner last night, also cooked up a curry with a couple of chick breasts, couple of sweet potatoes, 1 onion and a few spices plus water and have got 4 good sized portions out of that which is frozen 3 and 1 kept out for partners dinner tonight. Also lots of left over pork for sandwiches. (I highly recommed Aldi 1kg pork shoulder @ £3.50 - I cut it in half, freeze half and cook half, does me and my partner and our 2 year old for roast dinner, plus plenty of meat for sandwiches out of each half piece. Makes a cheapy roast dinner, and really tasty with good crackling as well.
Got to get some more freezing containers or bags this week as I am loving this batch cooking as it is saving me so much time (and money)
Might go bit over budget this month, but think will make it up next month as will have a very stocked up freezer.Mum of 2 monkey. 4 yrs and 2 yrs :j

Morning, popped to Ald* for weekly shop this morning spent £52.03 and spent £1 at coop yesterday. I'm a bit cross as after checking my receipt when I got home, discovered I've been charged twice for my tomatoes.
Have gone over budget this month and still have the beginning of next week yet. I may start my August GC on Mon 29th though . Must try harder next month.

Hi All 5.60 spend today on eggs, carrots, onions, strawberries and a bowl of peppers all from road side or farm shops locally. Should only need milk later on in the week, I hope anyway. Meals are planned out for the next week and a half may go over slightly. Foe the first challenge I am pleased but also know that for this month cat food was not included as we had bought enough for the month on a special offer so I need to work on it a bit more. I may increase slightly for next month and then anything under is a bonus. Will know a bit more about quantities of cat food tomorrow afternoon as one of our poor old puss cats is a bit poorly and a decision will be made then as to whether an op is a goer or the alternative. :(Not going to be a good day, we started with 5, all of which adopted us, grown old with us and have been a joy. We have 1 older cat and 1 who is about 2yrs old and again found us. Oh well we will see tomorrow. Hope you all have a good day and don't get too hot under the collar it's going to be a warm one. And if there are thunderstorms as predicted you will find me under the table:eek::eek:With Our Thoughts. We make our world - Buddha
