    Well done Curv! :T

I am staying away from Ocado and Waitrose as they are way more expensive than the rest.

I have added up my list and it came to around £7.50 - better to take that bit extra in case of substitutions etc.
  • ooo well done curv

I only tend to shop in Mr T and asda. I got to waitrose everyone once in a while but it is only to buy 2 things i love dauphinoise* potatoes i cant make them at all is one of the few things i cant make so i buy it ready made and they are FAB this is my little treat i have 2 or 3 time sa year are quite expensive. And while i amd in there i get those lovey little men biscuits they have off the counter the chocolate and the normal oat ones 10p each as a treat fo the kids. But i never buy anything else.

Wish i had the money to buy only in waitrose i dont seem to have the overspend impulse buy in there lmao

good luck to all who have just started. I,ve gotten my waste down 98%, which was a big factor in my starting this thread. Thrown out 3/4 of a loaf this week and 3 aberdeen buttery,s, but they were greatley reduced when I bought them, not really an excuse I know, but I didnt feel just so bad. Only buying milk today as I dont need anything else, should make up a bit of last weeks overspend

Angel: I love mini men too - I buy them for my DD but end up eating most of them, (well it is buy 10 for so much!)
Wow Teedy - 98%. Let me know what your tips are.

I spent £7.40! No embarrassing, '...err I'll have to put this and this back..' I even managed to buy a couple of other things - bananas (which I forgot to list) and the mighty Stardrops which has been featured heavily on this site. I hope it lives up to it's reputation.

I was about to pick up the smartprice brown bread but read the ingredients and it doesn't contain wholemeal flour - 'wheat flour, bran...', so I ended up buying our normal wholemeal loaf (58p compared to smartprice 28p: quite a difference). Also my usual yummy vine tomatoes have been substituted with normal salad ones, and iceberg with round lettuce.

Maybe I'm just enthusiastic because I'm new but I'm loving it! Thanks everyone :money:

Stardrops isnt some new miracle cleaner though, which some peeps seem to expect and then are disappointed.

The point is that Stardrops will do everything that all those expensive cleaners do and do it just as well, or better, and for a fraction of the price and no chemical cockails!

I cant believe how the admen try to convince us we need a specific cleaner for this, and a special cleaner for that! I laughed out loud when I saw 'Microwave Cleaner' for sale recently! what does IT do that stardrops (or vinegar or whatever/your favouriteOS cleaner) wouldnt do? absolutely nothing and it will do it for about 6 times the price!! :rotfl: :rotfl: :rotfl:
... don't throw the string away. You always need string! :D

Aha! Not so methinks. Both eldest sons will also be there as it's party time, and they never let their aged parents pay for anything :j . However I might cough up for refreshments on the way down and back :p .

Had to go into town today to get pressies for DS1 & 2. They like the Blue harbour shirts (as do I), so popped into M&S (again!!!) An lo and behold the £15 BH shirts were on a buy 2 get 1 free :j . So got one for me ;) . Also bought flowers for DDiL £7 but as none of these items are in my grocery budget I am quite content

Only groceries bought today were milk at £1.34

I'll bear that in mind, thanks Rosieben. For 58p I'm quite happy. :cheesy:

I would like to shop at Tescos all of the time as I've been collecting the clubcard points for years. We exchanged the vouchers for a Haven break earlier this year which was lovely - nice break at the coast with DH and LOs. Prob is that there isn't a store close by - good 35/40mins which I don't mind doing for the big one but not for a bread/milk quickie. I use them for online shopping which saves time and hassle. I've got a 700 point for £70 in store so I'll use that next week for the big one.
