Welcome Curv - I'm new too and our situations are similar including the amount spent  .
rosieben and angelraesunshine - that's my problem exactly, I have no personal discipline:rotfl: I usually find that it's the things for DH and kids I spend on, don't have any trouble putting back/not looking at the things for me. Strange that isn't it?
I am also trying to be a flylady and am finding the daily lists a help, I'm writing lists/diaries for everything - makes me much more aware.Proud to have dealt with our debt. DFW Nerd 1474

I'm in. Budget for the two of us £20 until end June. Trying to use up what's in cupboards so hopwfully will only have to buy milk, bread, veg and pots. Got loads in my cupboards so with a bit of imagination hopefully we'll get by!

I have a confession to make
I've been norty today and almost lost the plot spending wise, so I totally empathise Angelraesunshine, although my straying from the path wasn't in store it was online :hangs head in shame: after not shopping at Tesco online for almost 8 weeks now, I placed an order this morning, spent £54, which will come down to £38 after the BOGOF's but when I look at the stuff it's nothing I'm desperate for and some of it I don't even need! I made the order up to just over £50 to get 1000 extra points
I've been doing so well, with 2 weeks left to go of this months budget for me I have just over £150 left less than a £100 if all of the Tesco order arrives. All morning I've felt guilty and wanted to cancel the order but I keep thinking about losing the 1000 points I feel so weak and stupid but could I cancel?
I've just been giving myself a good talking to and figured as only £10 of the stuff is needed I should buy that when needed and instead of losing 1000 points think of the £38 I'll save to put towards my holiday or use some to buy a nice new posh frying pan (current non stick one is a big fat fibber cos everything sticks!). When I looked at it like that I've just been brave and cancelled the order. When I started the grocery challenge I decided that no more would I spend just to get points at Tesco and blow me I do it again just 8 weeks of being on the money saving lifestyle. So I'm starting a no shop for groceries online policy, lets hope I can stick to it. Confession over!NSD Challenge 2010:Jul 12/12; Jun 21/14 :T; May : 6/6

First time for me too Curv. In similar situation: 3 month old and nearly 3 year old. Been spending way too much - average £560 per month just at supermarkets and online groceries. I'm on maternity leave and getting paid for the last time next month so have to tighten up.
Had my lightbulb moment a week ago and been reading posts on here at any spare moment, (I'm addicted!).
Reckon if menu planning properly can get groceries for £300 this month.0 -
ok went to Tesco today and spent £5.23, however this included a rather nice beef joint, for which I ended up paying £1.75 ,due to being overcharged in the first place and double the difference policy. so will cook that tonight wit the potatoes I have left. Have to even up my weeks spending with last weeks disaster.
OH PLEASE SOMEBODY THANK ME QUICK! I HATE THAT NUMBER:T:jDabbler in all things moneysaving.Master of none:o

Hugs for Herbaholic
I'm so glad i am not the only one i really have to curb it though. Thanks Rosieben think i will try and take a leap out your book and really stick to only taking cash with me that was the idea today i just did not stick to it.
Well Mr T has delivered and the shop has come in at £127.17
But even though i have over spent i am well under budget this month as i have used up all the cubboard and freezer food and i have got the next 2 months washing powder in and washing up liquid to last me about 6 months and about a weeks worth of extra food as was on offer so i am not feeling quite as bad about it now i have got it all in and put away.
The real challenge for me will be July this month i knew using up the store cupboard would bring my bill right down but net month there is not gonna be a store ready to use.
