Afternoon all in MSE world!
So today lovely suprise realised I get paid Thursday not Friday...Happy Days!! Have paid £200 to NW card today, also heard from qui$co to say my cash back has cleared, lovely bubbly....need to think how to generate more income...realised I havent kept note of my nsd for September, though I know ive managed quite a few...this has been a really disorganised month..still practice makes improvement...so ill nail it in October! October is going to be nsd extreme month...Im kind of looking forward to it!!
Talking to a work colleague today she mentioned cycling has been her main mode of transport for the last 15 years, was very impressed, it also helped reassure me that it is possible to continue during the cold dark, winter months..i just need to light myself up like a christmas tree!
Had yoga today (free at work) it occured to me im far healthier & more active since I started this challenge, than when I actually paid for gym & never bothered to go. Am considering joining park run (free on Saturdays) will have to wait until next saturday but it looks like fun... Since im changing my monetary habits I may as well add in a few more good ones...healthy body sounds like a nice edition....Anyway I best get off home, hope you all have a fun evening guys! Have a good one! x
Hi shelbi!
Have read through all of your posts and really motivated to clear our debts. We have used a website called topcashback and they have loads of different cash back deals. We earned 87 quid for reducing our life insurance payment by 15 quid a month and going with a new company. But you can get all sorts of cash back. You can also earn cash back for completing surveys or going on certain websites. Hope this helps

Shelbi! Just read through your posts - what an inspiration! KEEP GOING!!!! :T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T:T
In almost exact same position as you - same income/been clearing debt for a while with deadline of 15/12/13 (final payday of year)
(Also recently turned 30!!)
It WILL WILL WILL happen - just got to keep going! I've been tearing my hair out with frustration cos it's only a few months to go & I'm already making a nice big 'spend' list for January, that might last until March to be honest...;)
As I've denied myself for a long time, it'll be nice to splurge before soldiering on with the savings plan, but getting soooo impatient!
And yes, house prices in London are ridiculous so deposit saving will be the next mountain to climb ...
Thank you for reminding me I'm not alone!!!
Also recently broke up with someone so totally understand resisting the urge to increase budget for hair/makeup --- running round like a ragdoll til December!!!:rotfl::rotfl::rotfl:0 -
Becoming debt free is the best feeling in the world. Actually living within your means or below your means and paying for everything in cash is the best feeling. I permanently moved back to Russia a couple of years ago and do not regret that decision. Here it is very hard to obtain credit as banks have very stringent rules, therefore I must live within my means and pay for everything in cash. This has helped me to save a ton of money and become better at money management. Even though I live within my means I am still able to enjoy life as I go out quiet often and travel with every opprotunity.0

Hi danidave88, roselondon, Denis D & all in diaryland:wave::wave::wave::wave:
Thank you for delurking, so lovely to meet you all!! Always helps & feels good to know I'm not talking to myself (I'm generally one stop away from crazy cat ladies..& I already own a cat lol)...feels good to know I'm not in this alone & there are other wonderful people like yourselves creditors & overdraft slaying!!
Dd88- thank you somuch for the cash back tip, will be looking into that tomorrow...I have to confess I don't like to buy anything nowadays unless I get money off or something back...even if it's a penny. So this sounds fab...am loving the questionnaires too, perfect pass time for breaks...many thanks!!
RoseLondon- thank you for your kind words am happy to inspire, even happier knowing I'm not the only one too, definitely not alone in this..well clear this up together one paday at a time..downside not long left eeek plus side is we don't have long left *puts fizz on ice*...final stretch but it's worth it, I spend most of my day daydreaming of what I'll do when my money is actually my money...large chunk will go into saving for my little place but a few treats need to be had and like you the list is loooong!! I'll be feeling like a millionaire...1st stop will be the salon for sure...I miss the luxury of reading a book while someone else wrestles with my 'fro'...we'll raggie dolls together lol, well worth it...the confidence boost alone will have mankind quaking in their boots...cannot wait for the new year, new starts, new dolls lol!!;)
Dennis D- Massive congratulations on becoming debt free!!! paying cash for everything, sounds like you guys have the right idea there, truly can't wait to pay cash for everything outright with my own money & without the guilty feeling it could be used to pay off credit card 1&2...come new years night I'll be toasting to their passing and there will be a cremation & one hell of a party...It must be such a lovely feeling to know you have it all under control thank you for sharing & reminding us a) we can do it & b) how to keep on track....hmm to go out & travel often, that thought alone makes me want to hit my credit card with another payment...payday needs to hurry along!
thanks you guys, have a big smile on my face, hope you all have a wonderful night & a fun and happy day tomorrow...sweet dreams x:DDFD-01.03.2018:starmod: :T

I was just looking at my topcashback account and have earned 165.03 since January 2013. So definitely worth a try but sometimes you have to hold out for a while for the cash back so read terms and cond.0

Afternoon all in diary land!!!
Danidav thats amazing, some serious savings there!! I have signed up, now just to wait until i need to buy something. Attempt at nsd today didnt work, lost a contact lense so I had to replace them, cycling in glasses is not for me...plus side I sneakily used qui$co & used my work email to claim 10% cashback as a new customer (although I already have an account)..am thinking I should set up another email account just for this & claim new customer status on everything...again! sneaky but necessary...grateful & happy that worked.
Also made a payment of £50 to credit card cannot wait for payday tomorrow...another step closer :TDFD-01.03.2018:starmod: :T

Confession...
Temporarily fell off the DFW wagon and booked my dream trip to New York with Mrs Sam_In_Leeds in February.
Could be worse though, debts now under £1500 on a 0% card and set a payment to clear it by the time 0% deal ends rather than chucking all mhy money at it.
Focusing on building up the savings to pay for emergencies like my sodding car (Suspension bushes and Exhaust went just before my MOT was due) but at least I've managed to pay for everything car related AND the trip to New York without putting a £ on the credit card.
Does DFW qualify if I have enough money in the ISA to pay off the CC if it's on a 0% carD?I spent 90% of my money on women, drink and fast cars. The rest I wasted. ...

Hey Sam_in_Leeds
welcome back, you know I actually think it's a good idea (fellow mse's don't lynch me just yet) you've got 0% on your card so the debts not growing & you've got a suitable payment plan...personally I think good on you!!:T As long as your not struggling, your still climbing out of the red I say follow your dreams!!:D sounds like a brill idea to have other things to look forward to as well as being debt free...so envious you guys will have such a fab time!!! congrats. To be honest I also think saving is a good idea too, I know its not generally the mse way but if the debt is under control I think it's good to build a safety cushion, for peace of mind alone, plus you can earn some interest, savings can grow, debts at 0% will only go down...it feels good to have something saved & when you've cleared everything, which I know you will:j .you & Mrs have a nice little nest egg to start your new life...very mse in my book...thrilled for you both hun!!! :T:T:TDFD-01.03.2018:starmod: :T

Goooood Afternoon Diary Land & what a gorgeous day it is too!!!
Very Happy Its payday, made sure I gave serious thanks for that one!! Still made sure i made my lunch & took my bike into work!!..no rest for the wicked!
Have transferred £320 to spare account this will be used to pay CT & rent as it arrives. Have donated £10 to colleagues moonwalk, very proud of them!!! Actually £12.50 as giftaided it, which makes me feel even better..love making money stretch that bit further!!
So nothing to do until next week need to shift funds then can make my beloved repayments. Making a big effort to feel abundant & feel good about money, yup even paying bills.
Am very excited about Rome this weekend..still need petrol for airport run & congestion charge fee (driving from work) & other than that the purse strings are staying tight. Am going out on a limb & leaving my credit cards at home, I will take one debit card with me incase of emergency & €235 in cash, should be enough!! So excited, my work trip was postponed, so at least I get to go away & get a dose of culture. Cannot wait to get home & pack...will be a fun & frugal weekend for sure...im craving pasta & gelato!!
Its totally gorgeous outside, I hope it stays this way for a bit...feeling optimistic today..fingers crossed for £125 incentive from first direct being paid next week & £5 from halifax...Nothing else to report to be honest, my hair needs doing..hmm to relax it myself, its sooo much cheaper less than £5 for kit, £60 for hairdressers to do it..saying that salon cost is worth it in that it looks a millions times better when done by a professional. Still I will do it myself & throw the £60 to my card as long as my nappy head is managable I can survive...can always have it tired up!! May treat myself to some olive oil...read a cool deep conditioner tip on savvy ways to save money thread....Am wondering if I can even manage to bring euro's back? will I lose too much on exchange rate?! may be better to spend them...could grab a few cute b'day gifts.....sorry My mind is running million miles per hour, too many minature hero's at work (sweet gift from lovely colleague)....im on a serious sugar high, I best make good use of it & do some work ;0)
Hope everyone is having a wonderful Thursday afternoon..Have a fab day everyone xXDFD-01.03.2018:starmod: :T

Evening diary land,
A brief check in from me, I had a wonderful time in Rome, such beautiful city, made even better with some greatly appreciated advise about where to go & the pitfalls to avoid...A MASSIVE THANK YOU!! (anonymous tipper :0)) so I'm back having 2 hours sleep & a delayed flight, having managed to work the day & reflect on this pickle I'm in. So it's back on the mse wagon again, looking at my figures I still have a long way to go, the repayments will be hefty & due to a few slip ups not entirely sure my wages will cover the repayments (they've grown so much) but I'm going to do my best to take them out completely. 1st step is to recommit to it (just done) second I've joined nsk's October challenge ( will post the link tomorrow for those interested as I can't from my phone) 20 nsd & some other wonderful tasks to keep me on the straight & narrow.
plus points today managed to save €100 from my trip (didn't spend it all on pizza lol) & my kind sweet travel buddy brought them from me at the same rate we paid when purchasing them, so I made no loss & she got euros for future spending. She's such a sweetheart & I'm grateful as the buyback rate wasn't great so very happy. Will bank that in the morning...ok I best get some sleep mammoth task ahead, I really don't want baggy eyelids especially when I won't be buying any more concealer & creams for a bit.
will check in tomorrow with that link,...till then sweet dreams one & all xDFD-01.03.2018:starmod: :T
