Tesco sent mouldy/gone off groceries and refuse to refund! PICS inside

Sunday Night i was browsing topcashback and saw that they offer Tesco £12 off a £60 shop+ cashback for new customers. Have always used Tesco over most other supermarkets for my daily shops.
My groceries and order came yesterday and after carrying them up a 3 floor of flats (as theirs no stairs) I was pretty worn out.
I went to make a salad today and got some iceberg lettuce, cucumber, tomatoes, ham and brown bread that I ordered out.
When I got to opening my tomatoes this is the fantastic value of fresh produce I received..

In the attempt to make no one barf and be banned for posting rude images I won't post the rest here lol
So I got a bit worried and checked my other veg. The iceberg lettuce has mould on it, the bread green mould. Everything else seemed fine.
So I looked at the dates '6th June'...This is not right. Give Tesco Customer Services a call. On calling them the woman said to me that all Tesco's Vegetables have a guaranteed short life including the vegetables and this is clearly indicated on there website in there 'everyday value brand' when purchasing and in their terms and conditions. The guarantee for vegetables and bread life is only 24 hours, therefore i would recieve no refund and all she could offer me was an apology for any inconvience caused.
I really think this is unacceptable and I wanted to know what consumer rights do I have?

That doesn't sound right. I always get an immediate apology and refund. If I'm sent dodgy goods. I've had quite a bit off them as well, when things have arrived then leaked onto my carpet. This doesn't sound like TESCO?
I'm guessing because you didn't report it immediately, they are presuming you stored it incorrectly? Or have you online shopped with them before under different accounts?0 -
To be honest I normally buy direct from the supermarket but as theres none in the town I've moved to now I went online for this. The customer service rep didn't ask me where I stored it. I just explained i ordered..went to use today and found this.
To say the least i'm not happy as i expected better from Tesco0 -
You must've got a bad rep. There is definitely NO history with you and tesco from any on their online accounts or anything? Which might make them think you're messing.
Maybe I've just been lucky but I've had lots of refunds and compo without asking when tesco have messed up.0 -
I've never ordered online at all..so definetely not. I've only used Sainsburys and never had any problems. And wow tinkerbell I didn't know that..so this is a common thing? Don't they check what they send??0
-
No it's not common. It happens once so often, where something bad is sent.
My problem where I got extra was when on 2 separate occasions and we are talking over years here. That something the delivered leaked out of the bag.
But it is different everywhere.0 -
I see. What are my rights?? I stored it in the fridge and never had any probs before0
-
Excuse me? Manners cost nothing.
It's unfortunate you got a bad call rep and I'd contact them again. Probably via social media.0 -
That tomato isn't off, it's just the way it's grown. Not all tomatoes grow perfectly round.0
-
The others were definetely off..green. And @ Tinkerbell I apologise..Please may I know what my rights are0
