Trust me they wouldn't of sacked them, they wouldn't tell you if they did alsoDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Mark, Your right to be angry and concerned about the leak and will probably get a gesture of good will from british gas but you cant sue for compensation for something that MAY have happened..
An Idiot nearly hit my car today, would i be able to claim for what carnage could have happened ?? No
Luckily the mistake was rectified and the person responsible dealt with.
The company could be fined for health and safety breaches I guess but I dont see how you could claim anything.0 -
OK well thanks Mr Expert, glad he wont lose his job, lets hope he doesn't come to your house in an emergency0

A good will gesture would be appreciated, Although it was the manager who came round today and mentioned compensation.0

I have a gas control valve and a gas meter.
What comes out of your taps? Watre or water? You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

Leaving this case aside, should everyone who works with gas and indeed electric,be expected to do every single job in their working career perfectly for fear of tut sack? If so,they are not paid enough for such precarious employment !Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

As for the spelling...
From http://oxforddictionaries.com/definition/english/switchDefinition of switch
noun- 1a device for making and breaking the connection in an electric circuit:the guard hit a switch and the gate swung open
- Computing a program variable which activates or deactivates a certain function of a program.
- Computing a device which forwards data packets to an appropriate part of the network.
- 2an act of changing to or adopting one thing in place of another:his friends were surprised at his switch from newspaper owner to farmer
- 3a slender, flexible shoot cut from a tree.
- 4North American a set of points on a railway track.
A gas control valve is none of these things. Whoever told you a gas control valve was a 'switch' has misled you.
Wikipedia describes a switch exclusively as an electrical device and has no entry for gas switch in the sense you mean.
I defy you to buy a 'gas switch' from a reputable UK supplier of gas equipment. Go on.You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'0 -

I am mystified about this incorrect cap, surely you would plug the bayonet fitting or worst case cut and cap the pipe with a 15mm cap?. How can this be done wrong?0
