British Gas (Gas Leak)

Hi, was just wondering if anybody could help, I recently had a fault with my gas meter and called out British Gas to repair this, when they came they said that the cooker was condemned and had to shut it down which i was fine about , although he did not have the part with him to cap the pipe so had to turn the gas supply off.
It was a bank holiday weekend so i could not get anybody to come out to sort this out till the Tuesday, anyway Tuesday came and i called British Gas and they said they would send an engineer out to cap the cooker and turn the supply back on.
An engineer came out and did just that, i continued to use my gas (heating and water) but the following day i could smell gas but didn't think much to this and thought it may be just residue from the pipe where it was capped, anyway as the day went on, myself, my daughter and partner could continue smelling gas but assumed it was still a normal thing although we did start feeling head-achy, sick, just a general feeling of not being well and thought we was coming down with a bug of some kind.
The next morning we got up and the house stunk of gas, so with that we called British Gas again and they told us to get doors and windows open and told me to turn the gas of at the supply. A few hours later an engineer came out and confirmed there was a leak and it was due to the previous engineer putting a wrong size cap on the pipe. We were exposed to this for over 24 hours.
I sent an email to British Gas complaints and they have been in touch and said they have taken this as very serious and sending out the manager, What can i expect from this?
Thanks

I would suggest you should expect a visit from the manager. ;)
Ask them for an estimated time & date of arrival so you can be sure to be in. :)

Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.

Can this really be two separate instances? I think not.

Thats because it is the same question, me and my partner both put a post on here, I was going to delete my thread but could not figure out how.
Also yes it is about compensation, and why not, if the house had of exploded due to the engineers negligence you would be reading about in the paper or seeing it on the news, these things do happen so why not put in the complaint and get justice, you put trust in there engineers to carry out work correctly and dont think for a moment that they could do such a botched up job and put peoples lifes at risk, the whole street could of gone up, what would you do? accept there apology and let it go?.

It tells me you're not going to gain by his misfortune. How much do you realistically think you'll get for this?
