When did the alleged leak start? Also British Gas are not an ESP so where did the ESP come into this mix? Small volume leaks whilst undesirable, are highly unlikely to lead to an ignition.
Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..

His misfortune could of cost peoples lifes, how can you put a price on that?. I have no figure in mind at all, the point is that BG send out engineers to repair faults and if they left us in a very dangerous situation. Can you imagine if we had gone away after the repair was sopposed to have been done, we would of come back to half the street blown up, so dont tell me about the guys misfortune, he put a wrong cap on the cooker, his error may cost him his job and rightfully so.

Get help and turn off the gas supply. The switch is usually by the gas metre.
Well, the advice is not bad - but
    • SWITCH ??? for turning off gas?
    • Gas METRE ????
Who writes this stuff? Surely for such a topic they could put the effort in to get it right?
You might as well ask the Wizard of Oz to give you a big number as pay a Credit Referencing Agency for a so-called 'credit-score'

    I'm glad to hear it.
You smelt gas, did nothing about it for hours, felt a little queasy and are now gloating that someone may lose his job..I think you need to stop posting about it here...
See a solicitor-they'll be glad of the work.

When you say he put the wrong size cap on ,can you be more specific? can you post a pic of the offending fitting which was capped/sealed?
