I feel just the same re: holidays, I was mentally planning our next trip to Cornwall before we'd got to Devon on the A30 home :rotfl:.
When my two were very little we used to go with friends every year and we'd take a brochure to plan the next year's holiday :D. Then draw lots to who would go to the travel agents on the day they went on sale to bagsie the free child places :T.
A positive attitude may not solve all your problems, but it will annoy enough people to make it worth the effort

Good plan GG :T we not extravagant enough to book holidays that require travel agents though :rotfl: RT you have reminded me about the break we had earlier in the year using a premier inn, it was great! I've had a quick look and we could have 3 nights in Bournemouth for about £100 in October :T I haven't booked it yet but probably will :money:

It's been a LSD today, I visited my parents and had lunch there, we went to the local shops and spent £5 in the charity shop on some track suit bottoms for dd2, a book for dd1 and a fab Zara top for me :p I also spent on nappies in Boots and some athletes foot powder for dd1 :o I'm hoping I'll only need nappies for night times soon so they should last a while :T whilst I was there my uncle popped by with some free passes for us for a local castle that is usually ££'s to get in. My cousin got married there last week and although we couldn't go he brought us the free passes :T I will use CC vouchers to get two more entry tickets and will save that for a day out in half term :)

Only 3 weeks left of the summer holidays! It feels like it's gone really fast and I'm running out of time to fit everything in! I've just exchanged some cc vouchers for a safari park that we'll visit in the last week of the holidays, and next week is fully booked already!

Back in April dh brought me a spa day for my birthday which I haven't had chance to redeem yet. My mum has agreed to babysit next Tuesday so dh and I are going to be pampered :D can't wait. It will be so nice to have the whole day to chill out together  my mum will definitely deserve a big bunch of flowers for looking after my brood :rotfl:

    Hello,

It's the first day of potty training for us today:eek: so far we have had no wee's in the potty and a huge one on the garden path :D I'm going to persevere though as I really don't want to carry on buying nappies for much longer. We're not going anywhere today due to the potty training so a friend came round to us this morning with her potty training Toddler. They had a lovely play and we even managed an activity of making chocolate cornflake cakes :T

When dh comes home this afternoon I'm taking dd1 out to get the final bits for school. We need shoes, trainers, pe bag and stationary, then I'll add it all up and see what the damage is  I also need to pop to home bargains to see if i can get a few groceries as well as the butcher and baker.

Yesterday was more spendy than I would have liked as I ended up taking the children to soft play, even though we had lunch before we went and I took snacks and drinks I still spent close to £20, we probably won't go again for quite a while though and they all had fun. I also managed to grab a few bargain Christmas/ birthday presents. I got Ds a Woody dress up outfit for £7.99 in Argos, and I ordered something for dh from amazon :T

I managed another sale on the bay yesterday so another £10 to op :T I just noticed they are increasing the fees again! I don't know if it's going to be worth selling things on there in future :( I don't have much luck on Facebook so maybe I should give gum tree a try.

I worked out the cost of dd1's new school stuff - £232.76:eek: that is for all uniform, bag, stationary and PE kit! I hope some of it will be able to be passed down to dd2 in a few years time.

I made an op of £26.69 consisting of eBay and TCB funds :T I also brought a meat pack on on groupon for £20 from a nearby butchers. That will stock up the freezer nicely :T

Well done on the OP! Mad how much school things cost nowadays, nothing like it used to be!

I know Beckyy, it's cost a fortune, luckily we've been given a lot of stuff for dd2 so it's been minimal spends for her.

Yesterday was a LSD, I went to a local market to check out the stalls and see what groceries I could get from there . I have to say I found it to be very expensive, I got 6 slices of ham, a block of cheddar and some Parmesan and it cost almost £10! Parmesan isn't a weekly buy but ham most definitely is so I will have to try some other places. It's been over a week since we started our challenge and I haven't worked out the weekly spend yet so I will be interested to see how much I've spent so far.

Yesterday I was going stir crazy being in the house, the rain is definitely spoiling the holidays for me now:( I took the kids to the park yesterday and after about 10 minutes it was thundering and lightening! At least we got out of the house. Today has been a much better day, a coffee morning at a friends, I spent £2.79 on cakes to take and this afternoon I met another friend at a local maize maze which cost £3 per child. It was really good and the children all got a prize at the end :T I also spent £12 on sausages and milk at the farm shop.

Potty training is going ok, a few successes and a few accidents, it is making going out a little more stressful but Ds does appear to have a bladder of steel. We have also lost Ds's last dummy so as well as giving up his nappies he's also going cold turkey on the dummy front too  he's doing really well though bless him.

The girls were supposed to be staying at my parents tomorrow night but unfortunately my mum is ill so that isn't happening now so our plans are up in the air. I think we will probably end up tidying the front garden and taking some rubbish to the tip if it's not raining. I really want to paint the fence too so will see if I have the energy for that.

  • Yay for Premier Inns Crumpets :T. Have to say we really rate them money/convenience/kids-wise :)

Well done on the Woody outfit :money: I saw it but it was only age 3 I think, or it would have been perfect to add to the DS birthday Toy Story-Fest pile :D

Gulp on DD1s uniform though  Tell her not to move in it or get a speck of dirt on it so DD2 can have it in time :rotfl:

Enjoy the spa day [STRIKE]not jealous at all[/STRIKE] ;). The hols seem to be going fast here too, every year I think they're like a yawning chasm in front of me then before I know it school's back on again!
