Oh goodness Crumpets, so sorry to hear about the car crash  So glad no-one was hurt. I know just what you mean about the stuff that needs doing! I hope it gets sorted soon & painlessly - & cheaply!
Pleased you enjoyed the spa day, the cleanser wasn't Elemis by any chance was it?! They do a lot of spa stuff & my best friend raves about them [STRIKE]and regularly re-mortgages her flat to pay for the products[/STRIKE]
You're doing well avoiding supermarkets! I sold out & did the Aldi/Asda thing yesterday. Be interesting to see the quality/money difference when you've been doing it for a bit longer.
Argh the perennial problem of places to hide Xmas/birthday pressies! We've told DS all his birthday pressies are at OHs work, they're actually in a high cupboard! How sweet that DD2 said she couldn't forget it as it's so pretty though, aww
Enjoy your camping! We're like ships that pass at the mo, I don't think you'll read this till you get back & I'm signing off shortly as SIL & DN are flying over the English channel right now! Have a brill last bit of summer & we'll catch up in Sept if not before xxLife is changing...but I'm still Money Saving!0 -
Hi Crumpets, thanks for stopping by my diary. I've read all of yours and it's very inspiring. I've bought my daughter an Anna dress for Xmas. I made her an Elsa dress a while ago and she adores it. It's nothing amazing by the way, but I love sewing and thought it would be cheaper than buying. Glad your DD loves her.Fashion on a ration 0 of 660

I'm very impressed you made your dd an Elsa dress aliwali! It sounds like your sewing skills are a lot more advanced than mine
I quite like sewing but very rarely get a chance to do any. Once Ds starts pre school in a couple of weeks I'm going to get started again. I need to finish dd1's quilt that I started almost a year ago! And I'm making Ds some bunting too, it will be nice to get on with it peace.:T
RT the cleanser was Elemis, it promises to resurface my face, whatever that means :rotfl: i've not noticed any major differences yet though.
Well we had another lovely weekend camping, despite some challenging behaviour from dd1:mad: it was once again freezing at night but it was beautiful in the day so I'm not complaining. We spent very little as sil and her bf provided most of the food. We did all our cooking on the campfire which was brilliant and dh and dd1 went on a bushcraft course and learn't lots of good stuff :T I'm hoping to get another camping weekend in next month if the weather is ok. I've really enjoyed it this year and the kids (generally) love having a bit of extra freedom :T
I can't believe it's the last week of the holidays! We have a few things planned with friends and we also have our safari park tickets courtesy of Tesco to use  this morning I met up with some friends and we did a cooking activity which was great and a perfect activity for a miserable day like today and this afternoon I want to pop to homeb@se to get some lamps in the sale for the lounge once it's decorated.
Also dh and I have been nominated to do the ice bucket challenge thing...I'm still thinking about that one

Ive just had a quick read and wanted to say Hello :wave:Cooking on the campfire sounds amazing, as does the bushcraft course, we have purchased a tent, but haven't been brave enough to use it yet :rotfl:
Glad your okay after your crash, and hope your car is sorted quickly, cheaply and painlessly xx:hello:Wife & SAHM of 4 children aged between 9 and 3

Hi Hannah, nice to see you over here. You should definitely give camping a go, but maybe wait til your little one is here. My little ones love it
I'm having a nightmare right now, Ds keeps getting out of bed, I must have put him back 10+ times already:mad: I don't know what has got in to him, but it's giving me some exercise going up and down the stairs :rotfl:
The day didn't get off to a great start today, a lady came to collect something she'd won on eBay and almost immediately sent a message saying she was unhappy. Every suggestion I made to resolve the matter was met with a no  In the end I had to give her a partial refund of 43p  I mean who creates such a fuss over 43p!! It really put me off using eBay actually so when my current items are finished I'm going to have a break for a while
The rest of the day was pretty uneventful. The car has gone to be repaired, I have no idea how long it will take but we should be getting a hire car in the morning. Tomorrow afternoon I'm taking the children bowling (need to look for a voucher) and then dd1 is going to a friends for a sleepover.
I still haven't been to a supermarket :T dh did go to the butchers earlier and spent £11 on ham  just sliced, for sandwiches <faints> I also went to home bargains for tins and the bakers for bread
I really hope Ds goes to sleep soon as I want to paint my nails

Hi Crumpets, :hello:
I just wanted to wish you luck, I came across your diary earlier in the week & have been hooked!
A lot of what you get up to sounds very familiar, but we're saving up for a caravan after another brilliant camping trip to Cornwall! :T
Enjoy the last few days of the school holidays, for me it's bittersweet as the kids are driving me bonkers - but I also work at a school so its back to school for me too! :rotfl:
Good luck with the potty training, my DS will have his last night in a pull up tomorrow, hopefully I won't have to strip the bed during the night!
Looking forward to hearing of your progress!
DFS :T0 -
Hello DFS, thanks for reading
good luck for Ds having a dry night, fingers crossed for you. What I found useful when taking dd out of night time nappies was using those bed mats, although they're not very frugal it made the night time accidents much easier to deal with. I saw some in Home bargains the other day for a much better price than tesco.
I have to say I'm looking forward to the kids going back to school, my house looks like it's been ransacked so i'll be glad to get back into a normal routine. Do you have a diary?
It's been a slightly spendy day today, we went bowling with the children, dd1 got to meet up with 3 friends from her old school so she was very happy and now she is having a sleepover :T when we had dropped her off we went to McD's for dinnerthis is something we seem to be doing more of recently and it needs to stop. Not good for our health or wallets!
Two more items have been paid for on eBay so I have made an OP of £25, I'm not listing anything else now. I have a few things that I'll try on FB the rest can go to the car boot pile or the charity shop. I'm contemplating doing a carboot sale on Sunday but will wait and see if anything else crops up before I decide. I really just want to get rid of stuff now, it's cluttering my house and my head:cool:
My fruit and veg boxes have been delivered tonight and we are absolutely overrun with beans, we can't eat them fast enough! I need some inspiration
I'm going to watch Bake off now on catch up as the little ones have only just gone to bed

No, I've not got a diary - yet! Just reading for tips & inspiration really! Strictly speaking I'm still a DFW, managed to stooze onto a 23 month 0% deal so very tempted to start overpaying the mortgage. My debt is fairly small & when DS2 starts school next Sept & childcare costs end I'll have loads of £££'s spare - in theory! :rotfl:
Would love to feel debt free (aside from the hefty mortgage!) Will save on interest by tackling the mortgage first though! Decisions decisions!
Sounds like a lovely day, will DD1 be going to middle school with some friends from first school?
We don't have middle schools in my neck of the woods, think they are a good bridge between primary & secondary but  at the uniform list & cost!
Noticed a couple of times you saying about listing eBay items when you want them to end the following week. Did you know you can schedule an item to start whenever in the future and then before that time log into ebay using the website (doesn't work on the app) You can then revise the item & tick the box - start listing immediately. I do this, so when its a FLW I just revise them & don't pay the schedule cost. Also good if you have time during nap time as you can do the listing but then revise during the evening & it sends it live. A good tip I picked up on here somewhere. Can't take the credit for it! :rotfl:
Car boots are also good, sure I have a Del Boy inside bursting to get out!
No idea on the beans - sorry!0
