Hello RT, no it's not the holidays yet unfortunately, as my dd1 is absolutely exhausted and could really do with the break. Only 3 days to go though and then 2 weeks off. I have a few activities planned but I really hope the weather is good. We're going to go to the zoo one of the days, I need to check if we can use tesco vouchers for that, also I brought a groupon voucher for bowling and then there's the usual NT visits and trails and going to the park etc. Have you got any plans for the holidays?
I had a quick google of the Diana coin and they don't seem to be worth much more so I may as well put it in the bank:o
Well I haven't really done anything off yesterday's list yet, and I forgot to add on make Easter bonnets so that job will be done today. I need to find somewhere that sells cheap craft bits, we don't have a £ shop anymore, we have the works or tesco so I'll have to try and pop in there when Ds wakes up. I also need to get some chocolates as dd leaves brownies tomorrow, she's starting guides after Easter so that will be more money on a new uniform:eek: I am keeping them all for dd2 though, I just hope they don't change the uniform in the next 3 years:rotfl:
Yesterday I used some of my birthday money and have booked in for another spa day:T there are a group of us going for a friends birthday in June, it was brought through a 'deals' website though so didn't pay full price. It's the week before we go on holiday so I shall be buffed and polished ready for the beach:eek::T it does feel frivolous though, even though I'm using birthday money, I feel selfish almost for spending it on myself:cool:
I've managed to declutter a few things today for the tombola at pre school, going to see what else I've got lying around that can go:T I feel like I've done so much decluttering this year and my house is still full of stuff. Where does it come from?
It's good to have the sun back out and have the washing on the line, now it's spring i really don't want to have the clothes horse up anymore. Speaking of clothes is there a tip for getting emulsion out of clothes as i've managed to drip paint on my jeans:( I need some new ones anyway but it would be nice to be able to rescue the old ones if I can.
Not sure what's going to be for dinner tonight, it's going to be something out of the freezer again, I can't find my meal plan from last week so I'm going off piste :rotfl:

Can totally empathise with you Crumpets about the constant decluttering yet still the house feeling as though it is full of stuff! Mine is much the same. My theory is that whatever stuff you do have just spreads out to fill the available space.November 2007 £570k 25 years - MF March 2033

Happy belated birthday, Crumpets! :bdaycake: Enjoy the spa day, I could do with one of those right now!
So glad to hear your DH has got away from a bad situation, these things can be more draining than you realise - hurrah for happier times ahead

Hi PM, thanks for the cake:beer: I've given up trying to get the paint off my jeans, I'm going to buy some new ones, but that is proving an impossible task, most places don't have my size in stock, or I don't like the style:(
I'm not having much luck this week, my phone is broken and I don't have insurance and I've caught a cold so I'm feeling a bit sorry for my self today:(
Luckily the friends that we have coming have postponed their visit by a day so that takes some of the pressure off, as I still have lots of tidying and cleaning to do:eek: it really shouldn't take this much effort to get the house visitor ready:mad: dh cleaned all of the upstairs yesterday so there's just downstairs and the garden to do, it won't take that long really but I just need to summon up the energy to do it.
Yesterday was dd's pre school Easter fayre which is never a cheap day, unfortunately she didn't win the Easter bonnet competition and we didn't win the cake competition but we still had a great time and hopefully lots of money was raised:T last day of school today and there is a disco tonight but at £4 a ticket I think only dd1 will go, that's if she's not too cool:cool:
It's going to be a busy and spendy weekend this week as we have our friends coming tomorrow and then I need to go to the butchers to stock up on food for the BBQ as well as getting drinks etc, I also need to pay my friend for the cake she is making, she's so talented I can't wait to see it.:)
Dh is off out on the town tonight, he really doesn't go out very often and he is sensible so I don't think he'll go mad, I'm going to watch a film with dd and have an early night.
Time for some lunch now, I'm having the last portion of my mystery soup, I'll be glad when it's all gone:rotfl:

Hope you feel better soon Crumpets. It's miserable when you have a cold, I had one on & off between Xmas & March, the kids just have tennis matches with their germs & you get everything in between don't you?
Hope you have a good time with your friends & that DD1 can rest a bit now her hols have started. I know my DS is shattered as he's been laying on the sofa in a onesie watching progs he's really grown out of like Postman Pat & Fireman Sam which is good as it's free entertainment

PS. yes, beware the iPad! Though I sometimes loose thing on computers too, right click & copy what you've written before you paste it, or write it in another programme/email before copying over. Hi everyone, I'm on my pc now so hopefully no lost posts <crosses fingers>
Last weekend didn't go according to plan which meant a lot less money was spent than I thought:T unfortunately dh didn't have his evening out as he came from work ill and our friends had to cancel their visit due to a sickness bug:( hopefully we'll be able to rearrange in a few weeks time. We did have our celebratory bbq though which was lovely, dh loved his cake and we all had a great time.
So far this week it's been a relatively lsw, apart from buying the children new summer shoes and sun hats but that comes out the clothing fund so it's all covered. I've only spent a few £ here and there. Next week will be the spendy week as we have a few big trips planned. Unfortunately tesco vouchers can't be used at our local zoo so we'll have to use actual money to pay for that:eek: dd1 has also requested that me and her go out somewhere on our own for an afternoon, which will be really lovely:) I also have a groupon voucher for bowling for next week so I'm hoping we won't spend too much. If the weather stays as it is we'll be making the most of the local parks and woodlands and taking picnics with us.:T
I had a bit of success on ebay last week, managed to get rid of a dolls house that must have been listed at least 5 times as well as being advertised on FB, also some more of the baby stuff went so I made about £17 in total.:T I have been thinking that we might reduce our regular op by a little this year as I want to have a few breaks away, it will be so nice to throw the tent in the car and have a few nights away without worrying about having the money to pay for it. I haven't spoke to dh about it yet so when we next look at our finances we'll do a bit of number crunching and see what we can do, or maybe I could put ebay money towards camping trips? it's something I'll need to think about.
Today we are having our decking cleaned and treated, the quote came in at £150 which I thought was very reasonable as it's quite a large area and the work it would have taken me to do would have been immense. We have also had confirmation of our dds school places today, they have both got into our chosen schools which is great news, next thing to do is to sort out school uniform:eek: That will be quite an expense as both girls are starting new schools so will need absolutely everything. I have kept a few things from dd1 to pass on but dd2 is so small none of it fits her yet. I'm going to get dd2 school sweatshirts rather than cardigans in the hope that I can then pass them on to ds, that's the plan anyway:rotfl:
I haven't got much else to report, I'm going to take the kids to the park this afternoon with their bikes and it will be something out of the store cupboards or freezer for dinner.
