Hi wish:wave: how are you? Baking definitely doesn't help the waistline, in fact that is why I haven't made any this week as I can't resist eating them:rotfl:

RT thanks for your good wishes, last night was a wonderful night, we had clubbed together to get our friend some wonderful gifts and lots of laughter and fun was had. I also had a few more glasses of wine than I should have had on a school night:cool:

Due to the over indulging on the wine I didn't take Ds swimming this morning, instead I went to a friends for tea and cake (again not good for the waistline) so it has been a NSD up until now as dh and I have just ordered a take away:eek: I just have zero energy tonight and am looking forward to my curry:)

Tomorrow dh and dd are grading for TKD do fingers crossed they both pass and Ds has been invited to his first party:) I got a bargain on some play dough the other day so that's the present sorted :T

  • Glad you had a great time Crumpets :) My DD has been invited to her first party too! I dug out a Charlie and Lola jigsaw from my standby pressie box that I got for £1 in The Entertainer sale :money:. Then realised it's on 2-4pm and she'll be asleep! She's murder without her nap so think we'll miss most if not all of it. Never mind :(

I too bake a lot to save money and give the kids good quality treats but I have a habit of eating more than them. Since I lost the bit of weight with the virus a couple of weeks ago I'm trying to keep up the good work so haven't baked in a fortnight [STRIKE]and have just bought cake from M&S instead[/STRIKE] :rotfl:

    Good luck for tomorrow :)

Morning RT, we do seem to lead very similar lives :D the party Ds has been invited to is 12-2pm which is nap time too. He's at the age now where he doesn't have a nap everyday although he does still need it. How old is your dd? Ds was 2 in December.

Porch work is very sporadic, they do a days work then disappear:( we are waiting for the doors and window to be made though as we are having wood so that is one reason for the slow progress.

Something strange happened the other day, a few months ago I mentioned that dd2s ballet bag had disappeared, I had to buy her a whole new kit.:( when dropping dd1 at school the other day, there it was hanging on the fence!:T I have no idea where it has been all this time, but now I have 2 of everything. I might see if I can sell them, or put one away in case one goes missing agin.

Today I'm not sure what the plan is. I may take the little ones swimming whilst dd and dh are out, we also need to take our library books back and I need to get dd1 some more challenging books to improve her reading score at school. I'm leaning more towards the library as it's free:D

  • Hi Crumpets, my DD is nearly 18 months. She's always been a great sleeper but *really* needs her naps, especially when she's full of cold [STRIKE]as she permanently is :( [/STRIKE]so we missed the party unfortunately. How strange about the ballet kit! Good to keep as a spare, as long as she won't grow out of it too quickly? My DD is on the 98th centile so is huuuuge, she's in 3-4 clothing if it's tightly sized and her feet are size 7, so I'm obsessed with clothes not fitting! :D

Happy mothers day to all the mummies reading

Hi LGP, I really need to catch up on diaries, I'm going to make it a goal for this week so hopefully I'll find out what you've been up to (not in a stalkerish way:rotfl:)

Shame about your dd missing the party RT, Ds loved his friends little party, luckily the weather was lovely so most of the time was spent out in the garden. We were also given a swing for the garden from Ds's friends mum so that was a nice bonus:D your dd sounds the same size as my 4 year old! She also has size 7 feet, she's starting school in September and I hope I can get uniform small enough for her.

Well mothers day didn't quite work out the way I had hoped, I was woken by the phone ringing this morning and it was my friend telling me she had gone into labour and I was on standby for baby sitting duty:eek: I left dh with my brood and went and played with my friends toddler :A when I got back dh cooked the dinner and I spent some time in the garden with my new wheelbarrow (mothers day present:D) I popped to the DIY store and brought myself some plant pots to put my new plants in and then I cut the grass. It definitely wasn't a relaxing day. Unfortunately dd1s behaviour has been quite challenging recently which has taken some of the enjoyment out of the day :(

I'm meeting my mum tomorrow at the garden centre, I'm hoping she might treat me to lunch as it's my birthday on Tuesday

  • Hi Crumpets, at the risk of chiming in yet again I have had such a similar day! My DS's behaviour today has been [STRIKE]bliddy awful[/STRIKE] challenging to say the least . I ended the day in tears :(. I think he's just exhausted and needs the Easter break. Pretty pants Mother's Day though!

Hope your friend's baby is here now? Quite glad I don't have to go through all that again :D

Happy birthday for Tues if we don't 'speak' again! :p

Just heading to update my diary now, not been very :money: unfortunately :rotfl:

Hi RT, I can relate, in my case I think it's a case of tiredness, jealousy and hormones:eek: sorry your day wasn't great either, maybe we expect too much? Friends baby arrived at lunch time, can't wait to meet her :T

You're probably right about expecting too much. My OH & I still laugh about one memory we have - we were on holiday in Cornwall when we were trying to have DS, desperately upset that he wasn't happening, and remember looking out to sea over the rugged Cornish cliffs that seemed so awesome and fundamental, and saying if we ever got to have this precious child we'd take him back to this spot one day. We did take him back when he was 2 and he was a right pain in the b*m the whole time we were there. We laughed and said these things never turn out to be as perfect as you imagine they will :rotfl:

Enjoy the new born snuggles xx
