Gosh, who would have thought there was a shortage on mini eggs. There still seems to be plenty in the shops where I live, but it's only a small place. I need to go and get some today to make an Easter cake for tomorrow so I shall let you know!

If you have an M&S by you they do delicious mini eggs and at a push the Aldi ones are fine for putting on cakes:p

There are plenty of C@dburys mini eggs around here! And M&S ones seemed to be in plentiful supply when I popped in our local outlet earlier :)

How can they be so daft as to underestimate Easter demand for mini eggs?!?!?! Pfffft! SOmetimes I'm astounded at large companies!

  • Great work on overpaying the mortgage Crumpet family! :) Your progress so far has been fantastic. Id agree with others who suggest relax it a touch over summer, enjoy the weather with the children.

I dont have a mortgage (just moved out of my parental/uni homes) and weirdly it makes me look forward to my own journey.

    Evening,

I thought I'd post a quick update before heading off to bed. I still have my cold and I now have a really sore throat too so am still feeling sorry for myself:(

Had a lovely day today though, we met a friend at a nearby country park and took a picnic (first one of the year:)) we also went on a miniature steam train which the kids loved going on:D a little bit spendy but we all had a lovely day. We then popped into the garden centre and brought some grass seed and an obelisk (I really had a hankering for one:cool:)

This afternoon I took some photos for eBay but I haven't got around to listing them yet. I was telling dh about the changes on eBay and he thought they sounded better, so like others (RT) I'm going to scout around for any 99p items to list before the changes come in and if they don't sell take them to the charity shop.

Tomorrow we have some friends coming round in the morning for an Easter egg hunt, I didn't get chance to make my Easter cake today so I'll have to try and make it first thing in the morning. We've also been invited to a Barbeque in the afternoon but I'll need to get some food to take with us. At least it will give us a break from cooking:T

Dh is having his boys night out tonight so I'm off to bed to read my book now.

    Night night

  • Hi Crumpets, hope you got a decent night. Have you tried soluble vit C & zinc for the cold? I find the ones with zinc make all the difference!

Hope DH had a fun well-deserved night out too! Enjoy your Easter fun (I'm embarking on a mini egg hunt later, I shall update in due course!)

Hi RT, thanks for the tip, I went to get some yesterday but I couldn't find any with zinc so I just got plain vit c ones. I used to take these regularly in the run up to my wedding, and I have never felt as good as I did then. It's funny how these things just slip off the radar. If I see some with added zinc when I next go to the shop I'll grab some.

Yesterday we hada lovely fun filled day. My friend and her children came round for an Easter egg hunt and lunch which was lovely and then in the afternoon we went to another friends BBQ where we stayed until bed time. The kids were all brilliantly behaved and it was a really relaxing day. I had to pop to Mr T to pick up a few things and came out £30 lighter:mad: £10 was spent on nappies though but I was still like this  at the till :rotfl:

Today we are supposed to be off to mils for a BBQ but the weather isn't great and looks like rain so it will probably be an inside affair. After I've finished mooching on here I'm going to list my things on eBay. it's mainly clothes to list today, including a couple of suits that dh never wears, I find clothing is quite difficult to sell though. I'm also going to bid on a sleeping bag for Ds that I'm watching, fingers crossed I get it!

Talking about camping, I could do with some perspective. In May dd1 is going away on a school residential for 4 days and I was thinking this might be a good time to try out camping with the little ones, however I'm feeling guilty about going without dd1, even though she's going away and will be having lots of fun. Does anyone think this is an ok thing to do?

    Happy Easter everyone!

    In short, yes.

It will be 'easier' with 1 less child and it also means the small ones get to have fun whilst DD1 is on her residential. Our DS1 is off on a 2 week residential in the Summer hols - we are planning on a week away (only to Devon - so he's not missing out on anywhere exotic!) with the other children whilst he is away

Definitely! To make sure she doesn't feel left out, you can explain that you'll be doing much more "babyish" activities that she wouldn't enjoy anyway. I am sure she will understand that it's nice for the little ones to have some time away too.

Thank you! I know really that it's fine but I was having an internal struggle with it. It will definitely be much easier with only the 2 little ones and we'll be having lots more trips when dd can come along too :T:)
