The vintage fair is next weekend you know... we really ought to make some plans!!!
Mother of everything yes. We really do! Who's going?!
I might be jumping on Birdie's 70's hippy bandwagon for dressing up because 1) I'll have my dreadlocks back by then (and the crowd goes wiiild!) and 2) I have this dress.0 -
Oooh nice dress!
I've been having crazy dreams recently and last night I was getting super stressed (in my dream!) about the fact that we've made no plans and I don't know who's coming or not and I was there all alone and I looked rubbish as I still haven't figured out how to make my hair go all 40's wavy (I'm now going in a 40s-ish dress as I found one in my wardrobe that fits!) and I was trying to figure out Cinny would pull off a landgirl look with purple dreadlocks (LOL!!!) and I woke up in a right funk which is yet to fully abate! :rotfl:Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. They're a deep red
At the very least we'll be there, Birdie!
Have you tried just pinning them with long separating clips? Like, wash your hair, run a little bit of product in it then clip it into waves? Thats what I used to do when I had hair!0 -
Ah, deep red is much more landgirl friendly than purple!
How do dreadlocks work anyway? How do you put them in/take them out? Can you wash/dye etc your hair normally with them in?
I'll try the clipping trick at some point, not really tried playing with it recently so going to have to decide what I want to try to achieve and go for it! I did buy some proper pin curl clips and a rat tail comb a couple of weeks ago to help... and then found the TWO rat tail combs that I thought I'd lost! Why does that always happen?!

Really pleased to read that Grace has still been awarded middle rate care and glad that being harsh worked.

As soon as we start making headway things always fall apart. The administrators at NIMs full time care job just ended the contract of everyone still in their probationary period. So he's out of a job. Again. At least he still has the bank care work, but we're back to treading water rather than paying off the big happy chunks of debt.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008
Debt September 20th 2022 £2991.68- 96.92% paid off0 -

Urgh, that sucks.
Hope he manages to find some other work very soon.
How are things going apart from that? How's everyone else?Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Good grief definitely not what you needed but at least you know your plans and how to move forward albeit more slowly now.
Any chance of NIM signing up to homecare agencies for work rather than actual care homes or is that what the bank work is. If the agencies around your area are anything like the ones where I am the staff turn over is very high and they're always needing carers.
Also look at main companies like Bupa, Four Seasons Healthcare and HC One to name a few off the top of my head as they own private care homes and might also run agencies as well.
Not sure if the above is useful as I'm in the north west but hoping it will help at least point you in the right direction.
There's also a website here that might be of some use as well.
Good luck NIM and Dinah in this next challenge.
