NIM can have my job if he likes, I'm really fed up of it today! :p Was hoping for an early finish but thanks to the higher-ups being d!cks and not doing what they're supposed to do, when they're supposed to do it, I'm stuck here until they pull their finger out and do something and will likely finish late now! Don't mind me, I have no life and am perfectly happy to sit around waiting for you all evening... I only started an hour and a half before you decided to stroll in this morning and, oh yeah, I don't freaking want to be here any longer than I have to be!!!!

What? That sounds crazy. Surely they need staff. Did they say why?
They let over 100 people go, it's the new buyers of the company. We think it's because they want to put as many staff as they can on new contracts with worse terms than the old ones the staff were signed up to.

Good grief definitely not what you needed but at least you know your plans and how to move forward albeit more slowly now.

Any chance of NIM signing up to homecare agencies for work rather than actual care homes or is that what the bank work is. If the agencies around your area are anything like the ones where I am the staff turn over is very high and they're always needing carers.

Also look at main companies like Bupa, Four Seasons Healthcare and HC One to name a few off the top of my head as they own private care homes and might also run agencies as well.

Not sure if the above is useful as I'm in the north west but hoping it will help at least point you in the right direction.

There's also a website here that might be of some use as well.

Good luck NIM and Dinah in this next challenge.

Thanks. He does bank care for bupa, that's where he is today, hopefully he might get a full time contract in a few months when one comes up.

So sorry to hear about NIMs job, hope he can find something soon.

Loved your holiday pics, looks like you had a great time.

Sounds about par for the course  I have total faith in NIM securing something a bit more permanent and lucrative soon though. Til then, keep your chins up and just keep plugging away what you can. Great news about Grace's benefit too - aren't you glad you applied now? I too loved the Greece pics, would be vvv jealous if the weather wasn't so lovely here at the moment.

Hope you managed to get away at a decent time the other day Birdie - my place is like that constantly - really urgent stuff we have to drop everything and do, which is only urgent because someone else has left it til the last minute - so annoying!

Off to check the FB page for Sunday, been seeing messages ping up over the last few days but was only on my phone so didn't pay too much attention....

I got away an hour and a half later than I'd planned to on Friday (and an hour after my official leaving time! :o)... I was pretty miffed as things just kept going wrong and I was essentially sat around twiddling my thumbs after 5 just waiting for someone to e-mail me when I realised that he'd already gone home without finishing the job! Was all set to have a good moan to my manager this morning but she's 'working from home as she's going to the doctor at some point' which translates into 'We had a birthday party yesterday and I'm too hung over to face work this morning!' :p

Ah well, had a nice weekend but the heat really sapped my energy! Could have happily gone to bed at 5pm both days! :o

Looking forward to Sunday now! Although I'll be a pile of nerves as my scan is on the Monday morning! :o Going to practice my victory rolls tonight! :)

What a blow for NIM! I'm sure he'll find something else soon. Are you looking at just nursing jobs, or anything that pays the bills?
We'll take your mind off it, Birdie! I almost bought some badges for us on Saturday. There was one that said "Mummy to be" then "Honorary Aunty" "Bottle Washer" ect :D

You boss sounds like me this morning "I'll be in later, I've got some things on." A.K.A "Money in the Bank was on last night and I wanted to see RVD." Only just rocked up and I'm feeling like I should be super productive, but I'm in weekend mode still.

Hope everyone had a nice weekend with the sunshine, I napped through most of it :) It's too hot for Ryder for I've had no motivation to go outside. Massive case of "What a lovely sunny day, I best close the curtains so the TV doesn't glare"

I'm also still in weekend mode, topped off by some worrying work news. Only I know apart from the director at the mo (joys of being a PA!) so best not say on here yet, but have been assured that everything will be ok. To be honest I'm so preoccupied with the wedding that I'm nowhere near as worried as I should be!

Really sorry to hear about NIMs job but as others have said, confident he will overcome. How is he enjoying the work? Your Greece pics were beautiful btw!

Wish we had siestas in the UK! I would love a nap right now!

The lead up to that 12 week scan was so nervewracking Birdie, hope this week goes quick.

Shrimpy - hope all is OK workwise. How is the wedding stuff going? I am feeling quite calm weirdly at the moment. Most stuff is done, just got to do some little things and i am sure i will be running round like mad next week with last minute jobs.

Badges sound cute Cinny if a little premature! Maybe I'll be big enough to get away with them at the next meet. :p I just look like I've eaten too much right now, want the podge to burn into bump! :o Had to do the old hairbobble-as-button-extender trick on my skirt yesterday as there was no way of fastening it! :o

Hope the work stuff turns out OK Shrimpy, you're right not too let it worry you too much right now, you've far more important things to think about! How are wedding plans coming along? Remind me when the big day is?! :)

I think we should have siestas as a rule when the temperature gets too high! On Friday the air-con in the office next to us was broken (can you imagine how hot it was in there?!) so we all got ice lollies, that was very good but I think it should be a regular treat on nice days! :)

This weather has put me in a massive holiday mood! Only 6 and a bit weeks 'till we go away and I can't wait! :) At least if you're too hot when you're abroad you can jump in the pool to cool off! :)

So sorry about that Dinah. That sounds like a real cynical move by the company. Poor NIM, I really hope he can get something full time that he enjoys very soon.

I could join you ladies for a siesta today. It's so hard to concentrate on horrible writing on such a lovely day!

Great news about the scan being so soon Birdie. And your lovely holidays too :) You must be really looking forward to it. I'm hoping to go somewhere last minute with OH when the dreaded dissertation is done.

Wendz and Shrimpy, so exciting about your weddings :j Any wedding !!!!!! pics to post up here to help us get through the day?

Lol at the badges, Cinny! Hope you all have fun on the weekend. I loved the dress you posted up the other day.

    Big hugs
