    Hi all!

Feeling a little more human now so can update a little! Stayed in hospital on Monday night, tried feeding him all day/night Monday and it was too much for me to handle (and I got so sore!) so he's on formula now. Feel bad that I'm 'failing' at the first basic thing but TBH, he needed a happy Mum and he's a hungry not-so-little thing so it's for the best. :) OH has taken to fatherhood amazingly and is so brilliant with him. From saying that he didn't want to see anything gross during birth and wouldn't change nappies/clean up sick etc, he watched the birth, held my hair back as I puked my guts up, took delight in telling me all about the afterbirth and is now a pro with nappies and sick! I'm so glad he's as good as he is as I had to have stitches and lost about a pint of blood so it took me a couple of days to feel 'with it' and I'm still sore and tired! :o

Zach's gorgeous though, really quite content apart from a little wind issue that we're working on. :) Currently snoozing in his bouncy chair.

Tink, thanks for the parcel! Going to wear my Barbie t-shirt today and we love the little rugby top! :D

Birdie you did not fail. You tried and that's the main thing. Like you said he needs a happy mum more than anything else. Yay to DH being a star. Make sure you rest :)

So lovely to hear from you Birdie!! I showed OH the photo of him in his raindrop onesie and said "Guess how much he was?!" (meaning weight, obviously) and Rich's quite honest answer was "What, did they adopt him? How much are adoptions?!" I was just thinking.. what they hell did he think I meant when I went to the baby shower and was panicking with food because I didn't want anything that might make your stomach turn?! Men :p

Love your attitude with the breast feeding though, don't let it make you feel like less of a Mum :grouphug: Yikes to the pint of blood, glad you're feeling steady now! How are you finding it all?!

Glad you are settling down, is a massive change! You did your best at bfing and that is what counts. He doesn't care as long as he gets fed ;).

Aw glad it got there ok and the top fits :) soooo glad your OH is being so supportive and really taking to being a daddy, that's great :) does he have a few weeks paternity then?
I wouldn't worry about the breast feeding, at least you tried! Don't feel like you're failing him at all!

    Keep us updated!

How is everyone else? It's been quiet on here recently.. How was Edinburgh Dinah? Any plans now once you're finished at work? How long do you have?
Cindy are you all settled into your house now?

Hi Birdie, you sound like you are both doing brilliantly, I hope you are getting plenty of rest, I am a 60s baby we were nearly all bottle fed then and look at us hale and hearty as you like! The most important thing is a calm and healthy Mum, and it sounds like you are both. Your other half is clearly a natural - good for him too.

Feeling a little overwhelmed today. :o The Baby Blues have hit, which was perfectly timed for the midwife visit so she's now concerned about me and coming for an extra visit! We had a really bad night so I'm super tired, OH went off to rugby at 2 (first time left alone with little lad!) as I was feeding Zach and he's just settled down now after screaming at me for ages! Hope he settles better tonight. :)

LOL at your OH Cinny! Sounds very much like something OH would say/think! :p

Hope Zach has a better night for you tonight Birdie, sounds like you have a lovely midwife. I'd imagine it's quite normal to feel overwhelmed, you've made a little person after all. You sound like doing a brilliant job, he is adorable :)

Birdie, it is so normal to feel like that. I was not discharged till day 21 and actually I really liked that they came to see us and reassured us nearly very day. They are so used to the emotions and can offer so much support.

Feeling much better today! OH (whose Mum had PND so is super attuned to dips in mood and is quick to help/fix things :)) did both night feeds and left me to sleep through it all so I woke up at 4 to be told he had already been fed then got up with Zach at 6 to let OH get a little more sleep. What a difference a night makes! :) It helped that I didn't get screamed at during/after his morning feed either! Got my family all coming round this afternoon and my nephew is meeting Zach for the first time, he's just started walking too so I'm hoping he's going to show off for us! :T
