Yep redundancy is about 2.5 months pay, although our plan is probably just to pay that off one of the credit cards straight away. I should also get about another £1500 in holiday pay for days not taken. Its a shame the debt went up so much while NIM was out of work, otherwise it would be nearly cleared through my redundancy pay.

Spent yesterday afternoon and will be spending most of today on my self assessment tax return. Fingers crossed but it should be a nice bit of tax back. I'm just worried I can't find my box of paperwork right now, and yet again I don't think work sent me an end of year assessment for my tax last year.

We have 2 CCs atm, both of which we pay £225 a month to. Our goal is certainly to have one cleared by the time we get to April 1st, and hopefully to have the second one half cleared or so as well.

£35 spent by me today, ordered a new car seat for Grace as she has outgrown her current one. Would be easy to spend £100+ on one, but this is half price and perfectly safe so thats all we need.

NIM has taken her out for some daddy-daughter time as he tries to do every weekend, as its pelting down he's taking her to a playcentre, last time he got in for £1 as he went late in the day so couldn't have the full 90 mins, so hopefully they'll do that again today. Otherwise it'll be £4.50. He also needs to buy her milk and some washing powder, so probably about £6 for those.

He's also running over to the town where I work to pick up my phone from EE as after threatening them with the ombudsman they're finally, after 3 months, replacing it.

Got my formal notice of redundancy yesterday, impressive considering they haven't responded to my appeal yet. Going to start writing down the main points once I have this tax return in, then I'll be in contact with an employment solicitor.

Paying the redundancy will save interest on the cc I suppose which will be good!
Just realised I've been "won" £15 of loyalty points fro, red spotted hanky I use for trains from things I signed up for aaaaages ago so that's a nice result! (After a very spendy weekend though!!)

That's really kind of you Tink, right now I can't find a single car receipt for petrol or repairs for the entire year. Put them in a box in the attic and it appears to have vanished. On the plus side I bought such a stupid amount of supplies for that fb craft thing then didn't sell anywhere near that amount, plus wrapping up the cake cases thing that due to the printer going bankrupt I never got off the ground I currently pre-car stuff have outgoings of £1900+ and an income of less than £200!

The weird dude is still there (still stinky!) but they decided to make him focus on techy project stuff and get someone else for the more day-to-day stuff. Can't say I've got much faith in either of them but at least they'll be happy when I go back!

Well done for being sensible and not overspending on a car seat! :T Also... how amazing is it that Grace is outgrowing stuff! She's getting so big now! Not a baby any more!

Not quite sure what to do with myself today... was awake at my normal Monday morning time (old habits die hard!) so no hope of a long lie-in. Might get some crafty stuff done this afternoon when OH goes to work... or I might go for a little nap

Dinah the new business thing sounds exciting - excellent feedback from the bank for sure. I hope the redundancy will clear loads of debt. Shame the cake cases never got off the ground, I always thought that was a great idea.

Things okay here, just very quiet. I'm heading out to meet my sister for lunch today. It's so nice she's back in the South-East from Scandinavia. Today's kind of the first time we will be able to have girly hang out time, so I'm really excited .

Oh, I'm intrigued by this business! Hope it works well and it's everything you expect it to be Love to hear you all motivated too. I think as soon as you have a goal in mind and a plan to get there, it makes everything so much easier.

Just wondering, did you ever find your kindle? Just I have mine and it's surplus now, was going to pop it on ebay but if it's any use to you I'd rather help a buddy out

Good point though Birdie, you don't want them to be too good. You want them to be laying down rose petals to your seat or summink! How long is it you have off with maternity?

I haven't found it no, I can't work out where on earth its gone. Did you see my message about the signed comics? Happy to do a trade, maybe you can swap them at comicon for ones you really like?

I am really motivated about the business, but currently NIM is undecided whether to borrow the money or not. We're both scared of borrowing that much, but I'm more scared of not having an income in a years time than I am of borrowing money which will be made back within 4 months. I feel like a huge amount of my self worth is tied up in getting this going, and if I don't I don't think I'm going to be in a good place.

Grace fell asleep during her bottle at eleven (still can't get her off them in the day), but woke when I tried to put her down for her nap. I'm worried she thinks this is it for napping today. She usually has over an hour, when I get things done, today those things were mostly napping myself as I was up until 3am stressing about redundancy and listing on Amazon to try to get some pennies in.
