Ooooh Birdie it sounds ouchie whatever fancy acronym they give it! Hope it isn't too bad.

Congratulations Lara - well done! Enjoy the rest - you've earned it!

No real plans today, am at work but meeting Momma Shrimp for lunch later on, then out for tea tonight. One of the girls I work with has made me a cake too :) so I wasn't kidding about the eating!

  • Happy Birthday Shrimpy!!! Hope you have a lovely day x

Hope you are having a better week this week Tete. Like the others have said, not long until Christmas and you can have a proper recharge. It is a horrible feeling being out of your depth, but it will get easier and easier. I remember when a friend of mine started out as a teacher she was terrified and now nothing phases her!

Cinny - when are you moving? Any photos of the new place? Did you buy or are you renting?

Birdie - SPD (or whatever the new name is) is supposed to be very very painful. Please go easy on yourself you poor thing xxx

No major news from me. No money updates anyway :(
I am getting totally into the Xmas spirit. The kids have been to Santa twice and are going again this Sunday to a toy fair and Santas wonderland. I think I might have Santa issues!!!

Hope you're having a well deserved chill-out day today Lara! :)

Did you have a nice birthday Shrimpy? Hope you stuck to the plan to eat lots! :)

It does sound like you have Santa issues CMD, they'll be bored of him by Christmas! ;)

Off to London for the day tomorrow, won't be the most active of trips but will be nice to have a wander round doing a little Christmas shopping, with several [strike]cake[/strike] rest breaks, and we're checking out the Winter Wonderland at Hyde Park. :) Nice way to kick off the Christmas season! :)

Happy belated birthday Shrimpy! Hope you had lots of fun. Lol at your 'santa issues' CMD.

I don't know what to do with myself today. Feeling rubbish so enjoying some chillout time on the sofa. It's been a while :)

Ohh have a great London trip Birdie! Nice to get festive. I might try to find some Christmas films to watch today :)

Well I survived London! :) Didn't feel like we did that much but I was dead on my feet by the end of the day so did enough! Winter Wonderland was good, the biggest, fanciest Christmas fair I've ever seen, but it was soooooo busy! There were thousands of people just trying to get in, there was a 2 hour + wait to see Santa, we queued about 40 minutes to go on the big wheel (would have left but we paid before seeing the queue and it was too much to lose!)... but it was still nice once we decided to go with the flow. :) I even got offered seats on the tube a few times, although the one time when I really, really wanted to sit down as I was exhausted, the train was too full and a lady tried to offer me her seat just as a load of people came on so I couldn't move over to where she was! It was funny seeing some people looking at me doing the 'Fat or pregnant? Fat or pregnant?' thing in their head, not so funny seeing other ignorant people refusing to even look at me so they wouldn't have to move! :p

Have people got their decorations up yet?! Don't know when our tree will go up, OH wanted to do it yesterday but we were busy at my parents' and I wasn't too keen anyway as it's a bit too soon. We're away this weekend too so not sure if we'll get the tree one lunchtime and I can decorate it in the evening, just don't know if I can make OH hold on for another week before we do that; for someone who hates clutter, he can never wait to get the Christmas decorations up! :p

Hope you have a lovely holiday Lara! :)

    Hi all,

Lara - well done you, must feel amazing!

Shrimpy - hope you had a good birthday!

Birdie - winter wonderland is always mental which is why i am avoiding it while Poppy is small. It is hard on the tubes everyone always seems to ignore you but there are nice people out there. Hope you aren't too in pain with the spd.

We had a nice weekend, had a reunion of most of the people i lived with in first year of uni for a christmas dinner etc with partners and kids so was really fun. Then sunday we went on the santa express . I said to poppy father christmas is coming and she went 'ohh presents' lol so obviously has her priorities right.

We will be putting tree up on friday, I am normall a 1st december person but was too busy this weekend.

Oh bless Poppy, she sounds like such a funny little thing! :)

Feeling a bit festive now that I've seen the Coca Cola truck! It's parked up in town today so OH and I went along to see it at lunchtime and got our photo taken and our little free can of pop! :xmassmile

Baking a Christmas cake at some point this week for the Bake-Off and I've gone for a Nigella recipe but after talking to other people I have a feeling there'll be a few of the same since they all seem to have a secret weapon up their sleeve and look horrified when I say what I'm doing so I'm trying to think of ways to make it a bit different (apart from using rum instead of coffee liqueur since that's what we've got at home!) as it won't score points for innovation if there are 3 or more of the same! Also trying to think of a nice way to decorate it that looks great but isn't too hard since I'm hardly gifted when it comes to icing! :o Argh, I don't think I can handle the stress! :p

Well done Lara! :j Must be such a weight off your mind; enjoy the well earned rest!

Happy belated birthday Shrimpy! Hope you ate loads of cake!

Thanks for the well wishes girls :) I had a liver biopsy which showed that my liver was inflamed due to an antibiotic I was put on. I was only on it for three days and the liver consultant and doctors couldn't believe it because it's such a safe antibiotic and there's only been a few cases of a reaction to it. I'm obviously special. I still can't drink (which is really annoying) and I get tired really easily but I'm going back to work just for mornings next week which will be nice to see everyone. My Christmas budgets are tiny now though what with having no proper wages for 2 months! :(

Tete well done on the good lesson feedback! I completely feel for you on the lesson planning. It is overwhelming at times how long it takes to plan one lesson. I cried so many times through my course!

Birdie hope you're not in pain for much longer, it sounds awful :( Not long at all 'til you're off work then he'll be here! :D I really want to put Christmas decorations up now but my OH's family don't seem too festive and want to put them up on the 22nd?! Can't wait to have our own place to decorate!

Cinny we definitely need to arrange the Jan York Meet! I know I had good reason to miss the last one (can't believe I've been ill since then, feels like ages ago!) but I can't miss another one!! :)

Glad you're getting better Zig, how strange that a simple antibiotic set it all off?! Will you be able to drink by Christmas? I can't believe I'll be having a sober one this year! Telling myself that brandy soaked cake and mincemeat is perfectly fine! :)

Boo to not putting up decorations until the 22nd! Can you put up a tiny little tree and lights in your bedroom and hope it spreads out to the rest of the house?!

And YES, we need to get the January meet sorted! I'm going to be massive and waddling and groaning every time I move, but I'm excited for it; looking forward to it will take my mind of feeling sore and grumpy, and I'll be happy because I'll have finished work by then! :)
