No idea how to pm pictures but if you put one on photobucket or soemthing you can certainly pm a link to a picture - I'd love to see her.

How long do you have left until maternity leave Birdie? I realized I only have 10 working days before Christmas this morning, I'm excited enough about that.

So, exciting news for me (don't get too excited, no babies or big money changes). I went to yet another dr visit yesterday looking for a cause to my high blood pressure (they haven't found one in 12 years and literally around 100 different tests) so it was more a cross-it-off-the-list so I can get some tablets type appointment. When I got there the doctor told me the kidney ultrasound I'd been referred for hadn't been the diagnostic treatment for 10 years. Luckily for me he says he was 40 so he used to do them back in the day, as I was there, he was there, the machine was there and it's a none invasive test he said he might as well have a look. He explained what they were looking for was one kidney more than 1cm bigger than the other, as that's a sign of something called renal artery stenosis which causes your blood pressure to rise to daft levels. Long story short my kidneys have a 'dramatic' difference in size of 2.4cm between them. So I have to be referred for an MRI, but the good news is this is a fairly easy to treat condition. If it does turn out I have it it will mean a minor surgery to put a stent into the arteries into my kidneys (a small mesh tube to force them wider) but then the blood pressure issues might be gone (about 8/10 chance). I'm really excited we might have found a cause, and a treatable cause no less, that means one day I might be able to have a healthy baby sibling for Grace.

That's really good news Dinah! Hope things work out well and you can go on to enjoy a full term pregnancy! :) I'm 28 weeks now and keep thinking that this is the stage that you had Grace, can't get my head around it! :o

Only 8 and a half weeks left at work for me now. Excited! :j Getting to the stage of palming off projects and stuff onto other people because I won't be here... lovely! :p

Gosh, I don't know if I'm happy or scared for you with your deadline so close Lara! I'm going to go with happy.... you're sooooooo nearly done! Then you've got holidays to look forward to! :j

Lovely to hear from you Flower, thought I'd best let everyone know where you'd disappeared to as I didn't want anyone worrying! Hope I wasn't stepping on your toes. :) Hope Poppy's doing well. Would love to have a picture if you can figure it out, Dinah's suggestion is probably the best, send us a link to a photobucket account (or similar). :)

  • Congratulations on the new arrival Flower :) Lovely name. Not long until your turn Birdie.

That's great news Dinah (as far as medical stuff can be great), fingers crossed this is the solution to finally getting things sorted.

I'm on holiday this week and typically getting ill just as heading away for a couple of days. Off up to the highlands with a Groupon hotel for pretty scenery and Loch Ness monster hunting.

Keep on trucking Lara, nearly there!!

Wow Dinah that could be *amazing*! Crossing everything that investigations go well and it's something that can be straightforwardly cured. :j :j

Thanks for the encouragement, ladies! I met up with my parents and my sis today, it was ace. Today was a Good Day. Gah if only I didn't have to write 2000 words now.

    Congrats again Flower!

No of course not, I'm glad you let everyone know, kept meaning to come and let everyone know but obviously has been a very hectic couple of weeks! Will get OH to sort some pictures out for me tonight (I really am useless!) and you can all see the new arrival.

DINAH I'M TOO HORMONAL TO READ NEWS LIKE THAT OMG. Getting all soulful! I really hope they'll be able to find the problem and fix it, how amazing would that be? :)

The end is so so so close, Lara! :D That's insane, and perfectly timed for Christmas :) What do you have planned?

That sounds like a super lovely break, Archers! We're off to London 3 weeks tomorrow and it can't come soon enough, only one night away but when you haven't had a holiday all year I'll take anything :p Hope you're feeling better and can have a great time!

Would love to see little Poppy too, Flower :) Glad you're well!

Hope you're feeling better soon ROTE, chest infections are the worst aren't they? :(

Off to the house this afternoon to do some more painting, my Dad keeps trying to teach me things but gets annoyed because I'm a natural plodder and take a little longer to do something than he would :o Bathroom is almost done so I'll post a picture when it's all ready :D I'm trying to convince Rich that we need this

I'm so excited Cinny, this time next week I should be finished already or posting off my thesis. Then we are going away on hols a week on Monday. We're staying in this glam hotel for 3 nights, then we have a little apartment booked in the city with a sea view, spending another week there.

Then in December I have made a big list of things I want to do. Like going for posh gelato, having lunch at the Ottolenghi place in town, doing some sewing from my Day Zero list, getting Christmas cheese at Borough market, going to the Christmas carol service at St. Paul's. But most of all just hanging out with OH, he has been so frazzled and stressed out with this current job. It's been months since we had fun, and just cut loose, that sounds kind of tragic now I have written it down. But it just feels like we have been carrying heavy weights since the summer. Looking forward to a new start.

I love the bath mat, you should definitely get it :) I'm a plodder too, but I think that means we get good results. I'm excited to see your pictures, yay! It's great you're having a little holiday to London, I hope you have an amazing time.

Sorry for your chest infection, ROTE. Make sure and take it easy, it's got so cold I hope you're under a few blankets toasty at home.

Can't wait to see Poppy, Flower. So sweet!

That hotel looks amazing Lara! Looks like you have a great time, lots of R+R time is just what you need :) I get what you mean about just wanting to cut loose a little, it doesn't sound tragic at all. It's well deserved! Carol service at St Paul's sounds so pretty.

There's so much stuff I want from H&M home is isn't even funny, everything is just so cute and you know there's always some good codes for a bargain :o Possibly have these on the way :) Rich has pooh-poohed the bathmat because he's a boring pooh-pooh-head himself :)

Argh Cinny, I'd just managed to forget about all the awesome H&M home stuff, now it's back on my mind! Love the links! :)

You always find the nicest places to stay Lara! Will be lovely, you so deserve a lovely rest! :) Hope you can start the New Year with a lovely fresh, smiley face!

Your breaks sound lovely too Archers and Cinny. :) So many of us taking off for a bit of winter fun!

I'm a big ball of hormones today. :o Could cry at any minute, feel like a ticking bomb!
