Morning all! Hope everyone had a good weekend? Was another quiet one for me, a bit fed up now of being too tired to do much and too sensible to go out for meals and treats!
At least the weeks seem to be whizzing by as quickly as the weekends are right now!
My parents are moving house and they got the keys to their new place on Friday so we went round yesterday to help paint since the whole place needs freshening up... I mainly wafted about cutting in and making drinks whilst OH worked harder than the rest of us put together, bless him... we were both worn out so were bathed and in bed by 8.30 last night!
Hope you haven't had any Ryder-induced accidents at your new place Cinny! Bless him for worrying but dogs really do need to learn that getting under your feet isn't helpful!
I get paid on Wednesday (hurrah!) so Christmas shopping can finally commence.Need to save some money for a day trip to London on the 30th and a weekend seeing friends in Edinburgh on 6th December. After those 2 weekends I'll be desperate for my quiet, boring weekends again!

Hi all, I am currently off work and have been since Thursday last week. Why is it that you think you get loads done if you are off. But the fact is your off because you're no use to anyone. The big o call should be coming any day now, and I'm simply not ready. I'm not sure I every will be. I don't even have the mind to do my knitting, it takes to much thinking power. There has been a lot of talk about the snow coming, now don't get me wrong I think it would be nice to be stuck in the house because of the snow but our boiler is broke. So no heating, however we do have an open fire which is nice. It's just one lovely toasty room and the others freezing. Hoe you are all keeping well. RoteTotal debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Hey all. Happy Monday (laugh all you like, I sure am). How is everyone?
Nice weekend here, lots of play time with Grace, then we went to an NCT nearly new sale yesterday and got an insane amount of stuff (8 outfits, 6 toys, 5 wooden peg puzzles, a potty, 3 books) in brilliant condition for £39. We also had a lovely walk on the beach (Grace not happy I wouldn't let her in the North Sea in November) Grace and NIM shared an ice-cream (brilliant pic on facebook), and NIm was chuffed to find a very 1970s real leather jacket in the charity shop for £10. However after such a nice weekend I found myself struggling to sleep last night, and then I had nightmares so I was up a few times in the night and eventually gave up and got up at 5.30. It's all stress related down to not being happy at work, but I can't change anything there.
I know there has been no real money news for a while, but that's because there has been no real money happenings. Debt isn't going down as all my ebaying/amazoning is just keeping us afloat with NIM having no wage to speak of. Hoping that December will be the start of things turning around.
Both cars failed the MOT. Mine needs about £130 of work, NIMs needs about £250. Which is still worth him doing as the car is worth more than that, but its still pretty gauling. Need to sort the insurances this week too. NIMs best quote has been over £900  Just glad all our Christmas shopping is done except for a pressie for my brother.Debt January 1st 2018 £96,999.81Met NIM 23/06/2008

Yikes to the car costs! Hope you magically manage to find NIM's insurance for less.
Well done on the NCT sale bargains; I've only been to one and wasn't impressed, think the term 'Nearly New' was very loosely interpreted by some of the sellers!I should really keep an eye out for sales in Harrogate as I bet the stuff will be much posher and in better shape!
I'm sorry ROTE but I don't know what you mean about the 'big o call'?!Overcome the notion that you must be ordinary. It robs you of the chance to be extraordinary!Goal Weight 140lb Starting Weight: 160lb Current Weight 145lb0 -
Sorry ofsted, the horrible little mites.Total debt Feb 2012 = £54354.11 😳

Oooh, ROTE! No heating sounds horrible, you want to make sure there's lots of hot tea/coffee/stew going around
It really looks set to snow here, I've been watching the temperature patterns and getting so excited. It was super mild yesterday, didn't even need a coat when I popped to the post box, but this morning everything has frozen over! Hope everything is rosy with Ofsted
Sounds like everyone had a lovely weekend! We were at the new place on Saturday, then played it easy on Sunday. Just popped to a local garden centre because they had a brass band playing and free ginger wineHad yesterday off work because Ryder was sick and I didn't feel like I could leave him in his bed for 5 hours
(and I didn't want to leave him either! I love my dog too much
) Poor little puppy, so had a day of cuddles and Crimmus movies. Got a lot of stuff organised too, two big bin bags for the donation bins and started packing some of our "tat" away.
I'm excited for Christmas shopping, only have one person to buy for and will no doubt buy OH some extra thingsHe let it slip he's planning on getting me an iPad so I'm like sheeeet, I need to bridge the gap!

Eek at the car costs. Our insurance was 559 which i thought was bad enough.
NCT nearly new sale sounds great. I keep meaning to go to one but always seems to be when i am away.
Hope ofsted isn't too bad ROTE, nervewracking!
Yay for christmas shopping Birdie! I have done most the kids now just need to sort my family out now!
I had parents evening yesterday and apparently Poppy is a pleasure so very proud mummy here!0 -
Hey Peeps
Cinny, how exciting about your new place! :j That's something very nice to look forward to in the New YearPoor Ryder, I hope he's feeling better today.
Dinah ouch sorry to hear about those car costs. We'd love to get a car so I can learn to drive, but it's so expensive on running costs. OH is a member of a car club for the odd time we do drive anywhere. But I'd so love to get out of London more. Sounds like you got loads of fab bargains.
Aww Wendz, bless Poppy, so nice to hear that at parents evening.
ROTE - sorry for the evil ofsted, especially before Christmas. Good luck with everything.
Things okay here. Next Weds I have to print my thesis, in order to post it off next Thurs, so I am wonderfully/perilously close to the deadline. There is still masses to do, I think I have resigned myself to working up until the deadline and then that's it. I am SO tired now, dog tired, dead-in-the-soul tired. Holidays can't come soon enough - 2nd December! :j Then all the rest of the month off with lovely OH.:A :heartpuls June 2014 / £2014 in 2014 / £735.97 / 36.5%0 -

Dont think I announced it on here (although Birdie knows from the pregnancy thread!), had a baby girl who arrived 6 days early and is named Poppy. Absolutely exhausting looking after a toddler and baby, but also loving it.
Hope everyone is well, not had chance to read back xx
ETA: just read back and saw that Birdie filled you all inwill PM pictures to anyone who wants to see! (once I figure out how to do it :rotfl:)
