I've not changed my mind I'm desperate for the car but its no good to me not running. I've chased them and just got told their mechanic was busy and will look at it tomorrow in the mean time I have no car!
How long is reasonable to wait?0 -
Also if they fix it I'm paying for them to Tax it. That will be back dated to the 1st when ever its purchased so I'm not getting the money out of that. Only ££ I know but it's still my ££ not theirs!0

Yes. This is a money saving site look after the pennies and all that!? At the end of the day it's my 50p wasted due to no fault of my own.
Another example: I give them a week. They can't fix it and defund me. I find another car a week later also needs taxing. Again will be back dated so I lose 2-3weeks worth of tax money. Is that still ok?0 -

Welcome to the wonderful world of car ownership. If you don't like having to put up with what some of us have done for the past 50 years, have a word with the government. I'm sure they'll listen to you."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -

I've been driving 15 years its not the government in this case tho is it. Not their fault for a change. I was just making an example of how it would be financially unfair to make me wait weeks rather than days to get me a working car which is what I purchased. I didn't put a deposit down and pay to tax it knowing I wouldn't have it to drive for the forseable.
If the car is not looked at again today I will request a refund Thankyou for your posts.0 -
Well it is the Government's fault in a way, in that tax is done on a per-month basis. If it was weekly, for example, you wouldn't lose as much.
So to sum up, you ask for advice, we tell you to let them fix it, then you decide that a day is too long and you're going to demand a refund anyway?

So the car has gone from "now won't start" to "I wouldn't have it to drive for the forseable" to "make me wait weeks rather than days to get me a working car"
Like I said in my first post, I think you're just having second thoughts about buying the car and are looking for any excuse to get out of the deal."There are not enough superlatives in the English language to describe a 'Princess Coronation' locomotive in full cry. We shall never see their like again". O S Nock0 -
Maybe you should wait until July 1st. You wont lose out on the tax then
