Ate some worms... jelly ones
OH outside 'practising' with Squeaks sword as she has stolen his lol.. On the phone with his ex-gf for the 3rd or 4th time this week... I foresee a hormonal head pounding session coming on. Why are men such knobs at times??
Dot was asleep within 2 minutes of her getting comfy on the sofa.. she's a dead head that one!
I've made a cuppa, decluttered some lunch down my throat.. now feel like a big fat bloated whale..
Girls on with reading books, homework and instrument practise.. Apparently they all hate me because I am horrible and fat and bossy and ugly and KH is so much nicer than me.. I replied.. that is because he doesn't live with you! .... *slap!*LB moment 10/06 Debt Free date 6/6/14Hope to be debt free until the day I dieMortgage-free Wannabee (05/08/30)6/6/14 £72,454.65 (5.65% int.)08/12/2023 £33602.00 (4.81% int.)0 -
Oh my, I've been flying at a leisurely pace today. Have done the following:
Gym
Walked dogs (need to do again later when its cooler, really looking forward to being out in the countryside, hoping DD will come too)
Hoovered/swept/mopped through house
Cut grass
Caught up with two phone calls
Am now going to read the paper and do some puzzles. I MAY tackle some of the other jobs later.Spend less now, work less later.0 -
Well done CY! As OH was away last night (*sniggers*) I was reading blogs until about 3.00am, so I was sending you 'Keep going' vibes, but in reality we all know you did it yourself. I'm in awe.
Dusty - I've done three car boots and I hate, loathe and detest them. My nearest charity shop happens to be a St Luke's Hospice shop, so they now have all my excess-to-requirements gibble. It's such a relief not to have to save stuff for months just to spend several painful hours early on a Sunday morning listening to people being rude about my stuff and offering me a pittance for it. There's an incredibly well run one in Plymouth that I'd like to visit as a buyer, but even doing that one as a seller was quite a lot of work for very little return. And St Luke's is wonderful, so I'm much happier supporting a local charity.
Ionafan - in a previous life I used to move pretty frequently. The item that belongs in the box you just sealed needs to nest with other items of the same ilk. I always have one box for 'Things That Belong Elsewhere' - very clearly labelled. It's been my salvation on many occasions when I've been wandering around carrying a pillowcase, a peg and a teaspoon and couldn't work out what to do with them.
Flying-wise today - bug*er dusting.Better is good enough.0 -
Took the tribe into the city centre. Clothes for DS1 who is inbetween kids & adult sizes. He got a pair of jeans and refused to come out of the fitting room in them so I may have to take them back. He also got a belt & cufflinks for his prom. Ds1 bought more lego to add to the rest and books. I bought sun cream for the kids(cue bad weather returning)
Ironing done. It was twice as much as normal as I have been sorting wardrobes and washing dusty clothes. Front lawns cut.
I am incredibly tired now but am cooking a roast. Afterwards we have some cheesecake from patisserie Valerie.
Well done CY
Stick thrown for your BD Skinty x
Good luck with your final bit of packing Ionafan. Smooth moving vibes on their way x0 -
Many MANY thanks for all your good wishes and congratulations a and MANY THANKS FOR THE KIND CONTRIBUTIONS I received - some of which were anonymous. I was somewhat humbled to discover my on-line fundraising had more than doubled whilst I was out!
I was up by 8am - I couldn't sleep - so I made DD1 breakfast. I was snoozing in bed with a cuppa when the phone rang - it was the mum of a DD2 mate - she hadn't got home last night and could DD2 help find her - cue DD2 getting up and managing to track her down on F/B. We were in that situation last November so I know what the mum was going through. Mate was eventually located and DD2 randg the mum back - it was a signal problem.
I decided to get up at that time. I put 2 loads of washing through and watched the cricket. I made it to about half 2 when I tried to change the channel on the telly with the phone! Cue a sleep of 3 hours! I only woke up for tea! Something tells me I won't be late to my bed tonight!
I am very achey, but feeling very satisfied.
Hope you've all had a good day, and before I forget smooth moving vibes to Ionanfan!:jFlylady and proud of it:j0 -
Hello everyone. You've all been very busy while I've been elsewhere.
Flying slipped here and there but - onwards and upwards. On Friday pm we drove to Birmingham to have dinner with DS, his girlfriend and family as DS & GF were flying back to Dublin yesterday & the rest are sailing over on Wednesday. We had a lovely day at DD's with family yesterday. I took her to a certain Mill shop for some fabric to cover sofa cushions, then took her and my gorgeous grandchildren to their friend's brithday party while DH sat in front of a different TV. He's so fed up of being off sick. Then we went to visit DD's father-in-law briefly to take a birthday gift then back to their house for a BBQ before we came home.
This morning I've cut the front and back lawns and done all the ironing as well as several more WM loads. This afternoon I've been chewing away at the frog in my wardrobes and drawers. Just need to munch the one lurking in my corner cupboard now.
Now, can I have a little moan and maybe get some hugs?
Went to bed shattered and was disturbed by our next door neighbours being very noisy for quite some time. I got up at 00.50 and asked if they could make a bit less noise and B got very abusive. He & son, who no longer lives there, were shouting for me to send DH down. They eventually went in, but I was really upset. We've been here since 2005 and never had a wrong word with them. We even ask them to keep an eye on the house when we're away. The only problem we've ever had is their dog. They had two, chihuahua and chihuahua/Jack Russell, but the chihuahua has died. However, she taught the other all her bad habits. It barks at everything that moves and we rarely spend any time in our garden because of it. Our DogStar is very quiet, as was our old boy and all 9 foster puppies we've had over the years, because we train them not to bark unless there's a problem. As I said, that's our only issue, and sometimes, when I've been in the greenhouse and Paddy's been barking for half an hour, I've said "Go away, Paddy. It's my garden." He can't even see me as the fence is 6'. I just feel as though that's left a nasty taste and I'm dreading being in the house on my own next time DH is away with the ACF. I wish they would hurry up with the settlement - solicitor has now engaged a barrister, so it looks like it's defintiely going to court, but once it's settled, we're selling up and clearing out, although where will depend on the settlement.
Sorry, moan over, just feeling very gloomy.DMP mutual support thread No: 433 - Mortgage - £54,556, Credit cards - £4012, Unsecured loan - £3,376, Other - £419

Hi all
Ironing basket emptied.
Trellis painted
Found out today that my friend's cancer has returned, she was only given the all clear in Feb. Decluttered some tears and then needed to do something so decided it was a good time to paint the garden wall.
Sending you all hugs, spoons and sticks.
