"treated" with a good sprinkling of salt. It's pretty shady round that corner, so not overly weedy, but it can get a little mossy between the paving.

I've never heard of the salt trick before. DS has a flat room to his bedroom and it's laden with moss - might give this a go. Thanks

Will fester in OH's side of the bed tonight and shower and sleep on my nice clean side 2morrow when he's back.

    Sorted.

    Genius! :rotfl:

Congratulations CY - have a restful day.

Well it's still lovely and sunny here so another day outside doing jobs. Not sure OH will be onboard though - the party we went to last night was brilliant and I was the driver. I feel great today however I think OH is still pickled. It's gonna take a lot of cuppas and prodding to get him up to speed.

    Today's tasks:-

    Inside:
The house looks like a bomb's hit it - the Next delivery arrived yesterday so there are THIRTY SIX  parcels to wade through and see what fits. It's currently covering the sofa so nowhere to sit down. Over half of this is BFF's and her DS who are popping around later

    Garden:
Dig 2 holes and plant the roses.
Work out where the slates are going in the garden. Dig up the turf and put membrane down in readiness for slate delivery.
Put weedkiller down on the drive
Pull out dead stuff from the "island"
    Paint back door
    Salt the flatroof
    Clear gutters

    Bathroom:
    Rub down paintwork
Gloss bath panel, skirtings and airing cupboard door
    Replace a broken wall tile
Fix a strip of beading to the bath panel and gloss

    Kitchen:
Paint the kitchen window whilst the gloss is out

    Cook a roast chicken dinner

    4.30 pm leave for work.

A nice quiet day then :D

OH just brought up a 2nd cuppa so will have that and then I shall begin at 9.45 for the first of many HHCs. Feel free to pop along at any time

    Food scoffed
Shower has been on for about 3 hours I'm sure!!
Small pinks fed and dressed.. apart from Squeak who is running about naked and refusing to put clothes on!!

I need to do some major flinging in the girls room.. still.. with about as much motivation as a stick!! I have absolutely no energy at all, I could sleep for 1000 years!

No washing to catch up on so DD2 can feed the DW, OH has the middle room to do and I'll go hide upstairs.. and I need to send someone for milk and bread.. that might be OH too actually.

Thanks Dancemum,Ionafan, the nasty BD has been biting my leg and I can't shake it off atm...never mind a stick to throw, I think I need a frypan to clock it over the head with so it can let me go and I can assess the damage...back into Skint Pitz rather than Skint Ritz again sadly.

DD1 is home and we have been trying to sort through her stuff and divide it up between her and DD2 ready for September to limit buying any stuff for DD2 other than the techno biggies that my flexible friend has helped with. But we are drowning in it!

The revenge of the cheap frying pan has struck again.....DD1 decided a midnight fried egg sandwich was in order.........burned her thumb, forefinger and wrist, and has lost a few layers of skin......cue 5 hours in A&E until getting on for 6am this morning.

So that is it, two of us having nasty scars from that pan, it is now gnashing its teeth in the bin........going to get myself down to @rgos later and break out the flexible friend (again!) and buy a DECENT set of pans, before I tart it away on the credit card merry-go-round.

Not been a good week here, DS got up to do a wee late Monday night and managed to knock the toilet seat DOWN as he was dangling his little bits in the bowl, so it was off to A&E again then aswell....the swelling has gone down a lot now.....poor little lamb.

So petrol tank is very much depleted as a result of 50 mile round trips each time, so I have told the Young Skints if they MUST have an accident in future to do it between 9am and 9pm when I can take them to Minor Injuries instead.

No flying will be done here today, but I will be back for new thread later and start again from scratch tomorrow.

I haven't had a chance to sit down with Fred, so hugs, sticks, spoons, rockets and congratulations as appropriate

see you on new Fred later

    Making good progress outside.

Made a major decision, I don't like doing car boot sales so am going to stop sving stuff for them and just take it all to the charity shop.

Toy cupboard stuff moved, some to go, drawers still to sort. Back to the garden now Whilst I'm on a roll.

Hugs skint, hope they're all on the mend x

Been pottering away here, bought compost, did tomatoes and more bedding plants and reseeded lawn.

Sorted kitchen and found homes for some groceries that had been laying around on the counters. DW emptied, few more bits fed in. WM x1 and out on whirlywotsit.

I have a charity bag through the door, and a pile of stuff in spare room, so that's handy, will look what day the collection is and get them ready.

Need to do a HHI, water the bedding plants and finish off salting the patio. I've just the path and the kitchen side to do now.

Also going to put some spuds in oven for tea, kiddies should be home in an hour.

Anyone ready for hhi or hhc? I'm off to get the ironing board...

  • Despite having a long lie this morning I have got up very much in a CBA mood so I am having a bit of laid back day and just doing a few bits and pieces that I can be bothered with. All paperwork is now sorted for next week and DH has made some lunch, done some laundry and hung it outside.

Well it only took me 20min to do the ironing, although there is more on the line.

Then the doorbell went and the littlies are home. DD was asleep in the car so installed herself on my lap and wouldn't budge for 20min. Since then they have been inspecting my work in the garden :rotfl: and putting some birdseed out. They are now playing in the sandpit so I've put the spuds on for later, and now just sat out in the garden.

Next door has had music on all day thankfully rather nice taste today. Bit different from when her son is in charge of the playlist :D
