Does anyone know if this is still possible? I didn't think you could make returns during the sale?
Thank you.
Hi! You can take an item back for a refund but you cannot buy that same item back - the person behind you in the queue can purchase it but you cannot buy the item back yourself x0 -

Just been asked a question about how you can check if an item is going in the sale.
Firstly don't ask the staff, we won't tell you and its can cause disciplinary action if we are caught including the sack, hence my posting under a different account.
Ok to check if an item is going in the sale you first must visit a store after the 1st July.
On the tickets you will see a letter and number combination EG B12 usually in pencil. The letter is just the colour of the ticket to be used and the number is the sale price in this case Blue £12.
Occasionally the combination is smudged or missing, just look on another size. If it is illegible just half the price and that is the likely price although some prices are lower. The minimum discount is always 50%.
Finally if you find what you want, don't ask staff to hold them, they won't, Also if you reserve something on the phone with a store they won't hold it until sale day if it is a sale item, it will be put on the shop floor and sold.
The only way to guarantee you get what you want is by being at the store at opening time or getting a temp job for the sale days.
Because I work at Next you should be careful what you say on here, would be awful for head office to find out about it...0 -

I would agree. If you could buy items back I would be going in the store the day before to pick up the items marked in pencil on the tag, then return them at sale price!!!
Plus can you imagine if they do allow refunds on first days? Surely queues are long enough without refunds too?0 -
As I said you can do this if its not lots of items and it dependants on the mood of the sales assistant however you need to wait till 2/3 days after sale started. However if you have more than 1 or 2 items I'm sure you wouldn't be able to. I have done it myself with something I didn't think would be in sale but wanted for holidays so I know it can be done.0

Ok its been a while since i last post but i have new info
The instore display furniture will go on sale on Monday 8th July starting at 33% off. All managers and staff have been warned that they must not sell cheaper than this unless there are significant faults with the item. Even staff don't get any further discount. Although unsold lines will be further discounted later in the week. They want everything gone by sale day as we will have new furniture to put out.
The opening time for the actual sale will be 5am for most store.
There is a huge amount of stock going into the sale. In the store i work at, about 75% of stock will be going in and we are still receiving it.
Kids will be the main beneficiary, as they are replacing many of the basic ranges so £2 t-shirts etc will be about.
Mens Signature aftershave range is having a new package and so the old style will be 50% off, some less popular ranges are being discontinued and again will be sold off.
Ladies and home again have a lot of new ranges and others discontinued, Home is receiving loads of sale lighting and some ranges again will be discontinued.
If anyone has anything specific just put a link in and ill try and look out for it0 -
