'woman in work' rant!!!

In all the time I've been in work there's always been someone who causes problems. You get one troublemaker moved on and then there's always someone else to fill their shoes!!!
JxxAnd it looks like we made it once again
Yes it looks like we made it to the end0 -
I used to work with a girl who like to tell "stories" especially about illnesses and one of hers was that she was having treatment for bowel cancer.
A lot of people got suspicious of her because her "stories" were not adding up.
She got rumbled in the end when we both had to see the company doctor over our absences because we both had to sign documents giving permission to see our medical records and of course there was no mention of her "illness" in her records.
As you can imagine there was alot of people that were angry with her especially as there were some with relatives that had the disease or had died from it.
I was annoyed as my absences were because I have a serious long term illness, which I ended up having a major operation for a few weeks later and I was made me feel like a fraud.
A few months later she did need to have "genuine" investigations for something else but unfortunatley nobody believed her, she ended up leaving in the end.

Oh dear she sounds like a right fruitloop!! I do agree though if there is a few of you who think the same you should definatly see your manager or higher even.
Its so unfair that others have to suffer yet shes getting away with just about anything!
Although im quite outspoken so i would just confront her myself. Liars are always caught out when put on the spot!
Let us know how you get on x x0 -
Even the manager knows she is lying. He is the one calling her the Invisble Woman !! When we moan about her he says 'what can I do? She's got sick notes' Can you buy them off the internet?!?
Now she is registered disabled (blue badge & everything) so any 'picking on her' and she claim discrimination. Like I said she is prone to reporting managers, she is probably waiting and wanting someone to say something to her so she can sue for 'victimisation!' Not sure how she can claim disability, my Mum has a friend who literally has to crawl up her stairs due to the pain in her knees, and she had to wait ages for a blue badge, yet IW - who was last year cycling to work - has suddenly decided a bike accident she had 4 years ago means she can barely walk (no doubt she had put a claim in for that too)
Everyone knows in the office that she is a total p**s taker. And if they didn't my Mum has made sure they do now! I'm just worried my Mum will end up in trouble for saying something to her - She is already very bitter about her, it's an office joke that you don't mention IW around Mum or it sets her off !!!
I agree that this woman has a mental illness (perhaps she is a Munchie?) But she's not so daft that she knows to come back to work before her entitlement to full pay runs out.

Go as a group to management and inform them you are going to keep individual diaries of conversations you have had with her.Ask for stress counselling too.
Be nice to her.
Given enough 'rope' she will soon use it to make a nice fat noose...
Hand the diaries in to senior management.
Hopefully you will no longer see the invisible woman.(that's perfectly normal, though;) )
Not a lot more you can do. Keep your mother away from her- it is in your mother's best interests.
I do, however love the idea of the party and dead relatives turning up.
Keep your friends close, your enemies closer- this woman is taking up money that could be earned by someone who genuinely wants to work and pull their weight- she will manage to earn enough from the benefits system if she's that ill/disabled anyway. (No offence intened to anyone who is claiming DLA genuinely- but imho there are fakers like IW who are claiming, forcing genuine cases to be put through hoops:mad: )Member of the first Mortgage Free in 3 challenge, no.19

sounds to me like you're all better off that she's not in work much
there are always people who take the p!ss and claim money (whether wages or benefits) that seem unjustified but there's nothing we can do about it and getting mad only wastes your energy. I'd ignore it and get on with life and just treat her as someone with issues who should be ignored.0 -
She sounds exactly like someone I worked with. She was dotty as hell. She worked term time only and we'd usually see her for the first two or three weeks of term, then the sick notes would roll in.
Last year she claimed to have cancer, her mother went into intensive care, her daughter had a spell in hospital for something too, her brother who lives in Sweden was in a terrible car accident and she had to be with him, this is all in addition to the usual complaints. What narked me was how bad a liar she was - none of these things were ever followed up, she'd come back in after seeing her dying brother for example, and sit there singing songs all day and telling us she is being taken out for dinner that night.
She was on capability several times, but with genuine sick notes written by an actual doctor, what can you do? I can only assume the doctor was a friend or a fool (or both).
She finally left last year, she told a colleague of mine that she got the job she's in now because the previous person had too much time off sick!0 -
To make this a 'money saving issue' What are other peoples pay policies for long term sick? I was off for a few weeks after a skin cancer scare/operation on my foot and lost £100 as I only get 3/4 pay. We have a FAM system (Frequent Absence Monitoring) 3 instances of illnesses and you're on it. I was off for a day - sent home actually- in January, with a bad tooth, had 4 weeks after my operation, and have to go back in for another operation, that will be 3 instances so I get FAMmed, whereas if I stayed off for 6 months, that counts as 1 instance.....

All the time people are listening to her 'complaints' the more she will say. Next time she tries to tell any of you anything, change the subject, tell her your to busy to listen or some other excuse.
Attention seekers like this feed off other peoples reactions and if shes not getting a reaction she might cease...
Keep us updated on what she comes out with next week! lol0 -
She sounds like she has Münchhausen syndrome which is and can be a serious illness if she starts harming herself to get medical treatment. This is done for attention seeking because they want people to look after them and care for them and sympathise. I can understand how its driving you nuts but it is a mental illness, which doesn't help you but she does need help.0
