    They are so pointless.

The one (that got me in to BIG trouble), was after I had a pretty nasty stomach bug, which resulted in my being signed off, as I quite literally had to sit on the toilet all day.

My dim and ineffectual boss said: "So how are you going to ensure that you don't have any more sickness leave."

To which I replied: "Not be ill."

Obviously annoyed at this point she asked: "Seriously, how will you manage it?" (meaning the reduction in sickness leave after my three days off in two years, which was obviously a heinous crime against all things holy)

"Oh, well I thought I might construct a sterile tent environment based on the life of Howard Hughes"

I got a disciplinary hearing after that.

Is sense of humour failure a serious illness, should the boss have been sent home? Looks like it was catching :D

    Update:-

I have only seen her once (last Friday), and saw for myself the Posh-spice-style totter heels she was wearing. I wonder why she needs a stick to walk into work, but can walk around the office without it....

anyway - Mother says she has accused the Health & safety officer who came down to asses her of sexual harrassment, and he could lose his job. It's all being written down & she has to sign it. They are following an 'enough rope/ hang herself policy' with her.
She is also claiming she is 'isolated' where she is sat, as there is no-one to talk to (although she generally talks to herself!) I am quite offended as she is suggesting that I am not worth talking to (I sit opposite her) so someone is going to have to move to accommodate her. Meanwhile I am being told off for coughing and having a headache (I should go and get my eyes tested, I was told)

My asthma nurse told me to take this week off as she wants to see if 'work stress' is making my breathing worse, so I should be having a 'back to work' interview next week and be told I am on FAM...fun times ahead. (My AN actually suggesting giving the job up/taking a few weeks off, but unlike SOME people I don't get paid for[STRIKE] bunking off[/STRIKE] being ill)

LOL to Impy's suggestion...may use that next week!!

Edit:- Mum phoned, apparently IW has been crying that she can't cope with the hours(she is currently being paid for 30, but is working 9, over 3 days to help her get back 'into the swing')

Before the 'leg' her hours were 8.00 - 1.30, but she would come in at about 6.00, so she could grab all the work and get better 'productivity' than the rest of us (we need to fill sheets in to prove we have been working all day, um doesn't the fact that all the work has been done kinda prove that!)

Anyway, she is not allowed in the office until 8 (health and safety, she can't be here without someone to look after her) and she is moaning that the 3 hours a day she does is too much, so the boss has told her to do 9-11 instead, bet she was hoping to get here early before everyone else and take up her old practises.

If it's all too much she should sod off and let someone who CAN do the job do it, instead of mucking everyone else about......

Ah well, back next week, shall see how it goes...

I would think all that carry on would make anyone's asthma worse, hope you're feeling better. You're going to need all your breath just to breath, not use it up in talking to your workmate............aren't you?
Sounds like your company is getting wise to her, so don't forget to dodge the flying toys she'll be throwing out of her pram nonstop.
Good luck for next week, don't forget we're all here if you want to vent without being overheard.

find out when her birthday is and arrange a surprise party, invite the managers and do some digging so you can invite her mum, dad and brother.

When all these dead relatives turn up and get introduced to the managers her cards will be pretty marked for taking unauthorised absences.

    Update time...!

She has now been given a disabled space in the car park, so she won't need to cycle in anymore.

The other day she !!!!!!ed off early to meet her daughter as she had 'forgotten' her walking stick (like she 'forgets' her limp now & then) I'm sorry but when you are dependent on an 'aid' you don't forget it. I would not walk out of my house and get to the car without my glasses because I would not be able to see - simple as that. If she needs that stick how did she manage to walk out of her house, to her bike, and then from reception up to our office without it?

There was a meeting the other day and our 'big' boss told us there would be no redundencies, we'd just be moved....her face fell...she's only hanging on for a payout.... She is really starting to p*** people off now. She keeps pulling the phone cable out the back of my computer with her feet - she was trying to get hers so she could pull the 'my pc doesn't work' card. She is annoyed that she has to sit in the corner, if she had a better seat in the middle she would have a better audience, as it is we can ignore her!

She's off tomorrow, she has yet to do a full week since she came back...we're just waiting to see if she has the nerve to ask for Christmas off.

Ha ha she's going to be disappointed then...no redundancies...perhaps she'll leave!
  • Oh my.

I'm banging my head on the wall for you. How flamming infuriating.

I'm gobsmacked that there isn't something that the company can get her on and out altogether!

Our long termer sickee player was caught out big time, Her habits were so predictable, she would be off with a bad back for 5 months and 3 weeks, come in for a week, so she wouldnt drop to 1/2 pay, then back on sick for 5 months and 3 weeks. She was friendly with most of the staff, and one day she came in to show us her holiday pics, with all the senior management around she showed us pictures of her White Water Rafting, Mountain Biking and dancing like a maniac on a table. Result instant dismissal, and escorted from the premises, turns out later she been working another job, and got used to the money.
