Heavy bulky goods faulty - no need to return

A 17kg garden cart, huge, semi-assembled and dangerous, which does not fit into the car - and which is impossible to get out of the car like thast, when the baby needs to be held at the same time - is not only significantly inconvenient, but unsafe.
A Robert Dyas customer service rep. refused refund unless the item is returned to the store physically, and refused to collect or to pay for posting/delivery to the store.
They breached the law . The more people know that, the better.0 -

Ah, there's always "the poor child" in there somewhere...
OP, you come across as very angry and confrontational.
People on here will have a difference of opinion to you, it's an open forum and that's just how things go.
Simmer down and go back and re read what you've posted, your making yourself look a bit silly and a little bit mental!!0 -
Sorry but trading standards has not provided any clear advice on the law. It has been pointed out to you a number of times that the consumer can ASK for certain things. Any reasonable lawyer will help you interpret this as being far from an entitlement.

But, as I have already told you elsewhere (and you ignored me and asked the question again) I am NOT being paid to 'watch' this forum and 'work against the interest of consumers'.
So you made all those posts for free? Out of spite on consumers? So, when they are given sound advice exactly matching the trading standards advice, you are there to post - all this for free...
You are not paid to "watch" - your work probably inclides posting. Simple. All your posts that i read are either against consumers, or diminish their rights, or sooth them into not demanding what they are entitled to.
If you do it for free- wow how much poison.
You still have not suggested who we may be working for?A 17kg garden cart, huge, semi-assembled and dangerous, which does not fit into the car - and which is impossible to get out of the car like thast, when the baby needs to be held at the same time - is not only significantly inconvenient, but unsafe.

Semi assembled implies the ability to disassemble, yes? Unscrew said parts, put it back in the car the same way you got it out. Jobs a good 'un.0 -

So common sense dictates that you would either disassemble the item, so it can be returned or simply contact them to see if they will provide the missing parts.
Hard to assemble could mean that said person is not doing it right...when the baby needs to be held at the same time - is not only significantly inconvenient, but unsafe..
So how did they get a 17KG box out of the car while still holding said baby????
Stop using the child as a excuse.
I bet your average weekly shop is 17K. I also bet said lady also manages this with no issues...Never ASSUME anything its makes a>>> A55 of U & ME <<<0 -
We went to a shop and bought a trampoline a couple of years ago-flat packed.
it broke after a couple of months.
Oh dear, once assembled it wouldn't fit it in the car - oh and it was heavy too.
What to do...
Well we could have phoned the shop and asked them to pick it up coz it was heavy and bulky and faulty. We could have said someone had been injured just to get some compo- even though no one had been injured. We could have done lots of things... But we didn't we just packed it up and took it back to the shop and got a refund.job done, no drama,no biggy. !!!!!! Happens but it doesn't have to be all dramatic etc.
why don't you help 'your friend' dismantle it and help her take it back. Get a refund-job done.GE 36 *MFD may 2043

This is the sad thing, if the OP had got of his @rse and helped and got it back the refund would have been processed by now...instead he is on a one man crusade against all the [STRIKE]employers of Robert Dyas who are posting on here[/STRIKE] posters on here with a different opinion.Don't trust a forum for advice. Get proper paid advice. Any advice given should always be checked0 -

Have you always had issues with paranoia, or is this something new ? If you honestly feel like this, I would certainly advise going to speak to a mental health professional as you don't come across as being rational.
Oh, and to save you checking, I average exactly 2 posts per day. Which doesn't take much out of my day to do0 -

You have a tendency to exaggerate and use eye-rolling amounts of pathos to put your point across.
I don't know if you're just a very successful troll, but this is really getting silly if not.
Get this person to make a reasonable effort to take this item apart and pack it back up again. The baby argument is a load of rubbish and you know it - there will be ways around having to hold a baby while getting the item out of the car. Like maybe going into the store and getting one of the staff who carried it to her car in the first place, to come out and bring the item back in.
Use a bit of common sense. Above all, be reasonable.0
