Not really. Just as an example British airways have had incidents involving fatalities: http://www.airsafe.com/events/airlines/bab.htm
Yet budget airline Easyjet have had none: http://www.airsafe.com/events/regions/europe.htm0 -
And Easyjet have been operating for 18 years compared to BA's 89 years. Come back to us in 71 years time & see what the stats show. If I ever got caught up in an in-flight emergency, I know which airline I'd rather be on:)Jamie_Carter wrote: »Not really. So you would think that BA technicians would know how to close engine covers by now wouldn't you.
I wasn't saying that Easyjet are safer. My point is that all UK airlines have to comply with exactly the same regulations, so no UK airline should be any safer than any other. However who do you think would be more likely to cut corners, the company that is struggling financially, or the one that is doing well financially?0 -
Neither Jamie...something good has actually come out of this incident. Shortcomings have been identified and standard safety procedures have not worked. Yet there has been no loss of life or serious injuries and remedial action will surely be implemented across all airlines to ensure the same thing doesn't happen again.0

So why would BA be safer than Easyjet, or any other UK airline?0
