You only fail when you stop trying OP.

Out of interest, where can I find the giving up alcohol thread as I have looked and cant see it. I have also joined Slimming World and am having a dry January (perhaps longer if I can find a thread to post and get inspiration about giving up alcohol for good)

The Slimming World thread is very inspirational. Keep posting as the kind peeps on there will help you stay on track x

    Thanks all!

I'll get there, baby steps and all that. I've been asked out twice this week but I'm not ready for that so am using my dry January as an excuse to leave it at least a fortnight, chicken :D

Mrs O, it's in debt free wannabe, debt free diaries sub board at the top.

Thanks for the link. I never go into the DFW Board as I have no debt so don't need to (thankfully). I expected it to be in the health & fitness section alongside the SW thread for some reason. No wonder I couldn't find it!

Don't beat yourself up, baby steps can still complete an entire journey so bear that in mind, small progress is better than no progress. Good Luck!

What a difference four months makes.

Met someone new in February, taking it very slowly but he just makes me smile all the time. Very far away from my usual type and a fair bit younger than me, we get on so well though and I'm just at ease with him, there's a bit of the old butterflies, but none of the daftness, just feel myself and content around him.

Lost a few of the pounds but then we lost my younger brother in April and they've crept back on with one thing and another, it's been a long few weeks. Hopeful that it's all settled down now and I can get back on track.

Thank you for your update. Firstly I am so very sorry to hear of the loss of your brother. That must be awful for you. I hope you have the love and support of family and friends to help you through this difficult time.

Great news though that you have met someone new who is making you happy. Here you are enjoying that amazing future we all predicted for you and that you were so brave to go after. Well done OP :T
The best day of your life is the one on which you decide your life is your own, no apologies or excuses. No one to lean on, rely on or blame. The gift is yours - it is an amazing journey - and you alone are responsible for the quality of it. This is the day your life really begins.

I am lucky enough to have some wonderful people around me thank you Marisco, my friends are incredible and I have been absolutely supported throughtout.

And the new man has been brilliant too. Early days yet, he hasn't met Top Boy or anything and it's all a work in progress but he just makes me happy which is more than can be said for the other one :) I'm very lucky indeed.
