I couldnt see they were asking for anybody's help just making a statement how nasty a bank had been. That is their opinion and this is mine, which we are all entitled to.

It is easy to paint a bad picture when you are giving your side of things. I am not perfect and have been in a situation before when things get tight. I wouldnt have thought the bank would just take the money from the bank account to pay off a credit card and cancel the overdraft too unless the situation had got really bad, but again that is just my experience.

They are a business and when you have spent money on a credit card or overdraft they are entitled to get it back, as has already been said.

Fair Do's ....Appreciate what you're saying but to leave someone without any money is somewhat unreasonable and cruel ...especially if you have a family to feed and it's done without any prior notice.

But then again, I suppose banks aren't in the business of being reasonable ..

Banks subscribe to the banking code and one of the key commitments is:

We will deal quickly and sympathetically with things
that go wrong and consider all cases of financial
    difficulty sympathetically and positively.

Thats why I said I thought something was amiss with taking back the o/d amount without warning and that they should give you a reason as to why, I wasnt intending to be callous, just pragmatic.
