halifax are nasty!!!!!!!!!!

we have sent off to reclaim our bankcharges from the halifax.......

since then they have been extremely nasty...4 weeks ago they took all my wages to pay off halifax credit card and today they have cancelled our overdraft... and therefore swallowing up all my wages again hence yet again leaving us with not a single penny in our pockets untill my wife gets paid on wednesday......

we have spoken to them today and they said they are entitled to cancel an overdraft at any time.... even though this left us totally skint for the bank holiday weekend her reply was not our problem.......

then with a parting comment she said ..."arnt you claiming your charges :p "

nasty nasty nasty people.......

should have opened that other account sooner.... time to do a copper hunt i think.

cheers sam....

May the flies of a thousand camels infest their backsides.

One party to a contract can end it any time they want to, but having the right to do something does not mean that it is right to do it.

Have a quiet word with the Financial Services Agency. They take a very dim view of banks of doing this sort of thing, especially the credit card, which surely is under a different contract.
The acquisition of wealth is no longer the driving force in my life. :)

As this is a Budgeting and Current Account issue I'm shifting this over to that particular board.

Previous thread running in the Credit Card board is here..

They probably think you're quite nasty too. It seems you ratted on your agreement to repay your credit card, you then took advantage of the overdraft they allowed you and then you are suing for charges you contracted to pay on your account.
Seems to me that the relationship has broken down and you caused it. But I may be wrong!

They are nasty. Last year we were broke and really struggled, they were really funny about extending my oh's overdraft and infact downright vile about it.

Now we get a letter today saying they are raising out od limit from 100 to 2600!!!!!!!

Is that irresponsible lending or what?

I am not sure if it will apply, but a Bank cannot take money from a joint Bank account to pay for a credit card in your sole name. My Bank did it many years ago, kept denying it, and once threatened with the Ombudsman, it cost them very dear!

    thanks guys......

apparently it is in the t&c's so they are entitled to do it.

not arguing that point just that fact that they can take ALL my wages on the very day i get paid....leaving my family and i with wow 3 pence in my pocket for the whole weekend................fine take some money but not all!!!!!

and the only damn reason we are upto a overdraft limit is cos of charges....

450 last month.......how can anybody be expected to get straight with that amount of deductions every month????????

It's not nice when banks want the money back that you spent and that was not yours in the first place...
