I may be wrong but it appears to me that your chap isn't committed and is avoiding any financial responsibility so he can make a fast getaway if necessary.

Sounds like you need to establish your own self and get stable for when the baby comes before starting a new live-in partnership, worrying about how you pay for him as well as yourself and baby.

Nice to have the chap as a live-out boyfriend and let that take its natural course in the longer term.

But I guess it's done now so just make sure you protect yourself financially and get the chap to take financial responsibility while you focus on baby. Double check chappie does what you agree and not hide unpaid bills leaving you with more problems. Good Luck.
