Change to what? This means that the numbers are stored in the sim like I guessed. If the sim is compatible with another phone, the numbers will be available.
Should I be OK just to change the SIM card then ?
I guess so. You can just try regardless of what Orange are saying. And even if a new sim is needed for some mysterious reason, I don't understand why they can't help you with transferring the numbers from the old sim to a new one.

Also, you can try 'upgrading' to the same Nokia 113 at CPW for just £14.95 that is cheaper than £24.99-£8 at Orange. And it will not be locked to Orange:

Quidco pay £6 cashback if you go through them, that makes it just £9.

And finally, CPW have even cheaper handsets, like Nokia 100 for £5.95, Samsung E1200 for £3.95 etc., that makes 'upgrading' virtually free after Quidco cashback.

Use 'Sort by' phone cost filter.

thanks again, took the punge. Nokia 113 at EE
phone numbers all OK (all Nos are in there TWICE in fact !).

Re camera - it is a VGA camera. OK I know it is a basic phone, but as the main reason I changed was the camera facility, am dissappointed as the quality seems CR*P to be frank. Should I have spent more and got one with a 'proper' camera. ?
I can only see them on the phone as I can't see a way (not in booklet either), of getting them onto a computer.
Assume you can do this ? Any ideas please

Yes there is a way to do it by connecting a micro cable to the phone and plugging into the USB port of your computer. I've got a Nokia too and I use a CA1010 cable but the closest I can find to show you is a CA101 (apparantly) at http://www.amazon.co.uk/Nokia-CA-101-Micro-Data-Cable/dp/B000U6QPFI/ref=sr_1_1?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1369840222&sr=1-1&keywords=nokia+cable+type+ca1010

You can see these are dirt cheap. My best recommendation would be to take a little stroll around Currys and ask an assistant's advice.

A photo is stored on the SD card that can be taken out and used with a PC.
Also, it can be sent to a PC via bluetooth. If the PC doesn't have it a bluetooth dongle cost £1 in Poundland.

bluetooth ? dongles ! aw my gawd !! Didn't want to get into the internet on thisphone (there is certainly no SD card to contend with.

A lead/USB wouldbe the best way forward,, surely - off to Orange shop to have a look (why didn't they sell me one ?)

Because they're usually young numpties who don't have the first clue what a man of our age wants.

Bluetooth has nothing to do with the Internet.

    http://download.fds-ncom.nokia.com/supportFiles/phones/files/pdf_guides/devices/111_113/Nokia_111_113_UG_en.pdf

I checked the manual and I don't see anything about connecting it to a PC with a cable.

The picture in the manual shows only two connectors: for charging and for a headset.

And no, I am not even remotely close to being 'young'.

Or they know the 113 doesn't have a cable facility. Just a Micro-SD or Bluetooth.

    And your manual of course.

Using a USB SD card reader can be simpler for you.
    grainy pictures
    no flash
What did you expect from a £15 phone? BTW, very few mobile phones have a decent flash. Usually it's LED rubbish working on short distance only and hence covering the frame very unevenly.
If you didn't rush and bought it online from CPW, you would have had 7 days cooling off period to return it.
