Hi, looking finally (ONLY because I want a camera - mine broken), to change my old brick Nokia A62 fro something new/cheal. Only want calls/messages/camera.

Like Nokia layout, have £8 in phone fund with Orange, so Nokia 113. £24.99

However, this has all sorts of features that may ? cause probs. Bluetooth, internet access,, etc.

When I go abroad, do I have to disable all this stuff so as not to be charged? Or, would I only be charged if I signed up to all the interenet features - have no intention of doing so.

I am 60 - just do not want any probs if I change phones. Already I am told that the shopcannot just stick my old sim in the new phone, I will have to write down all my numbers and re-input (assume this is because my phone is so old ? Seems to have no transfer facility.)

Any advice please . Thanks

that phone is very like my mum's nokia, and my old Samsung. You have to actually click on the internet button to activate it on these phones, nothing is set up automatically for internet etc on them, so you don't need to de-activate anything if you don't want internet on it.

I take my old Samsung away abroad with me specifically because its like the nokia you're thinking of buying ie no automatic internet function at all, and i never use it for that abroad, I use it for texts and occasional calls only, and its on payg.

Oh, if you buy it instore, the shop staff may well be able to transfer the numbers from your old sim onto the new phone (are you keeping the same number?). They did that for my OH when he upgraded from one phone to a newer all-singing all-dancing version.

If the contacts are stored in the sim, there is no need to transfer them.

thanks. my numbers are all 'on the phone', but there is no 'save to sim' option.

Do they give you the newphone in the shop, or do you have to go through the waiting in for courier set up (Orange shop being used as I have a 'phone fund' there.

as long as they have it in stock, they give it to you and set it up for you in the shop.

Are you sure it's A62? How old is it?
6210 is 13 y.o. and does allow saving contacts to the sim.

IIRC, each entry in the phonebook can be edited. One of the parameters is 'location'. It can be changed to either 'sim' or 'phone memory'. And in my earlier C45 and C55 'sim' was a default location. So, it's possible that all your contacts are stored in the sim card actually.

And it's not a very old phone. Unless the sim card is older than the phone, I think Orange are talking rubbish that it can't be used in the new handset.

yes, had not found that before (it's lower down the screen)

options are SIM, mobile, or protected SIM.

All my numbers show SIM - should I change this ?

Should I be OK just to change the SIM card then ?
