I can identify with that wendym - I got a dummy last year and got so fed up of looking at it and thinking it looked fat I turned all the dials to the smallest setting! Not much use like that as you can imagine.

 Great why couldn't you lot warned me earlier. I've just orderd one. :o

Might encourage me to loose a few pounds.:rotfl:

We're lucky in that we both have a wee 'work' room each - mine for sewing & art and my dp's if for his music. he's a peak at mine:

I can't recommend it highly enough. The kids have a big 'rumpus' room, so they're happy, and my dp and I have space to escape to when the need takes us! Our last place was a one bed cottage, so even though we've been here nearly 2 years I still smile every time i walk in...

We've just bought a house and it has a loft room, which I've claimed for my very own! (DH gets the small bedroom as a study, so he's happy).

Now I have to find lots of things to put in it! :rotfl:

    I'm so jealous. :(
I want a loft room, but where will I store all the !!!!!! that is up there?

Its now that I've started sewing again, I realise I do need my own space permently set up. Its no fun moving the machines on and off the dinning room table.

I'm sure you'll have great fun kitting your room out. I was looking at a web site the other day which people had sent in pictures of their sewing rooms. I'll try and find it again, it could give you some ideas. :)

The beauty is, the house has a 3/4 - 1/2 height dry cellar (it's a 30s house on a bit of a hill), where all the !!!!!! can go! And we have a huge garden! It's the perfect OS house!

I've had a sewing room for years - the whole family dump stuff in there when they can't think of anywhere else to put it and then I don't do any sewing because it's in a mess until I have a blitz and sort it all out- and the whole cycle starts all over again.
Mini chests of drawers from Ikea were one of the best buys I ever made to keep all the bits and pieces orgainsied

However my lovely new kitchen is just finished with an island in the middle which measures 1.5 by 1 metres - it's absolutely perfect size and heightwise for cutting out and for hand sewing curtains. So I feel a blitz coming on (plus I have to do the costume for DD2's summer play)

Hi ho Hi ho it's off to sew I go
It doesn't matter if you are a glass half full or half empty sort of person. Keep it topped up! Cheers!

I'm thinking of starting dressmaking again and I really want a sewing room now. I'm so jealous of people who have the space for this. We've been refused planning permission to build over our garage and so give our boys a room each -so, as you can see there's no extra space for a sewing room. I've got a big table and plenty of room to actually sew -it's where to store all the fabric and stuff that's the problem.
