I've finally got half a sewing room!!! DH bought me a sewing machine years ago then moaned that I used it sporadically - was under the stairs!!! Finally he agree to divide one of the bedrooms up - it already had two windows and was huge! So now 2/3 is daughters bedroom and 1/3 is our study and my sewing 'space'. Couldn't afford to buy a new table, so used a spare computer desk. Fabric is in a cardboard box (dream of a nice basket - one day!), reels of cotton in an Ikea basket, and the rest - pins, needles, scissors etc in a sewing box I picked up in Tchibo on the cheap.

I have a resonable sized sewing room and I absolutly love it. It's great to have everything set up and ready to go. I was really lucky to find a massive table to do my pattern cutting on. Also at a local junk shop I found a table ideal for my overlocker. All I need to add to it really is a cleaner to come and give it a tidy once in a while.

    I now feel so envious!

I have a sewing/computer/household accounts/ironing room, where I also store future birthday and Christmas presents. I recently treated myself to a cutting out table, but that lives folded up behind the sofa downstairs. How fab it must be to have room for a table AND a dummy!

After reading this ............ its settled I am clearing out the study and turning it into a computer and sewing room.
 Can I sell the children on eBay and use one of their bedrooms and go the whole hog?

    Edit:I wouldn't really sell them

After an recent unfortunate incident that involved actually seeing my waist and the surrounding area while making a skirt with a bias-cut yoke, I have decided that I don't after all want a dummy.

I can identify with that wendym - I got a dummy last year and got so fed up of looking at it and thinking it looked fat I turned all the dials to the smallest setting! Not much use like that as you can imagine.

I have a dummy, but I can't get the waist to go big enough, I'n thinking of making a fat suit to go over it!!
