So the missus was told at work today that her team faces redundancies unless they can cut 20 hours
2 people on full time offered to drop a day amd 2 people on part time offered to drop half a day. Saving of 21 hours right there. Job done if management accept
One of the full timers has just called the wife and i'm hearing the wife say things like "well you have to do whats best for you"
I think she's changed her mind about cutting a day and wants to take her chance with avoiding redundancy
If the missus gets redundancy we're screwed and will have to sell the house within a matter of months because we sretched ourselves to buy it0 -

Aau1 I'm very sorry to read this.
I have been out of work for some months and have had to move back in with my parents. Luckily I was renting. I can't even imagine....
I do hope that you and your wife don't lose your house. I'm sure everyone here will cross fingers for you xDebt free 6th December 2014

Because I have bothered to learn, because I've had to, I understand that SB meant absolutely no malice in his post whatsoever and I actually chuckled at it when I read it.[...]
It was simply my honest immediate thought that I had on seeing the post I was replying to and, starting "Big deal", I meant it in jest.0 -
AAu, please dont take this the wrong way, as it isnt meant the wrong way, just trying to be helpful. If needs be, it may be worth doing something like delivering pizzas on an evening, it is possible to earn £30-40 a night, so if you did 5 nights, a reasonable bit towards the household budget, presuming you drive. No good for you doing it for a long time, but as something to keep the wolves from the door for a month or two, it could be worth considering.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”

Or another option that may be worth considering, again not ideal, but an option, is rent the home out for 6 months while things sort out, if it means you can keep it in the long run.“Quis custodiet ipsos custodes?”
