Help: Re Different Colours and Negative Feedback

Dont link to the auction, but presumably you put a picture with the auction? Can you post the picture here so we can see what colour we all think it is?0

Might not help that much: in my experience, purple rarely photographs accurately. It's the worst colour for looking a different shade from the pictures. Also, our monitors are unlikely to display exactly the same - which might actually make it a worthwhile experiment: we would have no way of knowing how closely the image on our screens matches the actual object but we can compare how it appears on different machines (also taking into account the possibility of personal perception biases).pulliptears wrote: »Dont link to the auction, but presumably you put a picture with the auction? I have occasionally had returns because the colour wasn't exactly as the customer expected, but they always paid return postage and imo it's at best a bit cheeky to ask the seller to pay for the return. Complying in an effort to preserve good feedback seems to me a bit like handing over your lunch money to the school bully: it might make your life easier but it also encourages them.
This actually sounds to me like she thinks "purple" is a specific shade of what the rest of us understand as purple.caroline78 wrote: »"these no use to me as not purple or even mauve!!"0 -
Yeah, I'd like to see if I think they are purple too!"There is no substitute for time."
Competition wins:
2013. Three bottles of oxygen! And a family ticket to intech science centre. 2011. The Lake District Cheese Co Cow and bunny pop up play tent, cheese voucher, beach ball and cuddly toy cow and bunny and a £20 ToysRus voucher!0 -
Colour me gobsmacked (sorry) that a buyer is kicking off so much about a 99p necklace. Presumably you had a picture on the auction and if she wanted to be sure they matched her dress she could always have asked for extra pictures in different light or against different backgrounds. I'm guessing she didn't.
I buy most of my clothes on eBay and if something arrives and its not quite what I thought or doesn't quite fit I just chalk it up to experience and relist it on the next free listing weekend. I don't turn into a full on strop monster and I don't leave negative feedback.
I have to agree with others - sounds like she might be trying to scam you.I don't like chick flicks, I get grazed knuckles doing my own car repairs and I ride a massive cruiser motorbike. To many this makes me a bloke in disguise but to my husband this makes me perfect

Before refunding, I'd check FB left for her and FB she has left for others to see if this might be a regular occurance.
I'm always suspicious of those who kick up such a huge fuss over such a small amount!
Perhaps she bought something else in the meantime??Should've = Should HAVE (not 'of')
Would've = Would HAVE (not 'of')
No, I am not perfect, but yes I do judge people on their use of basic English language. If you didn't know the above, then learn it! (If English is your second language, then you are forgiven!)0 -

Thats why i no-longer make it easy for them.
I'd hate to think i went out lof my way for them - and still got marked down. A lot of sellers refund and then get a neg saying "wrong colour - had to get refund".0 -
OP, I think I found your auction and to be fair, the picture is showing the stones as a grey-purple rather than purple-purple (if that makes sense?) That said, purple is subjective, and as someone else said, is incredibly difficult to photograph and bearing in mind that colours can and do appear different on various monitors, there is the element of doubt whether it is grey or purple.
However, that no way justifies nor excuses your buyers attitude. I would demand that she returns the item for a full refund - I do think you've been very fair and accommodating to the buyer. I do hope that she doesn't "reward" you with a neg!
Personally had I been the buyer I would have thought, "oh it won't go with that top/dress as I hoped" and then filed it away to wear on another occasion. But as we know everyone is different!
Hope it works out for you.
