HSBC internet banking? Is it me or is it poor?!

I find the HSBC online banking to be very easy. In fact, although I know I need to find somewhere with better interest rates, I am concerned that another online system won't be so easy.Member #14 of SKI-ers club
Words, words, they're all we have to go by!.

Love the HSBC app. I have their main banking app on my phone as well as the Fast Balance one. The latter is fab for checking your balance before a big purchase. As far as the main site goes, it's very straightforward to use and I love the layout.
The secure key isn't really a problem for me since I use my apps when I'm out and about. The only time I use my computer is at home and I keep my secure key in my desk drawer near my computer anyway, so it's no hassle. I'm just glad you don't have to insert your card into it as you do with most other banks.
Oh, also. I love that when you're applying for another HSBC product (savings account, credit card, ect), your details are already filled out for you if you're logged in when you apply.

Their app isn't great IMO, as it takes longer to login than other bank apps such as NatWest and Barclays, who use the pin login method.
Their internet banking is quite good once you're logged in, however it could be improved massively by allowing customers to login without the pin device.0 -

True, however it does become faster with more practise. I guess it depends on personal preference. I've used both Natwest and Barclays app before and I won't argue, logging into those was definitely quicker!

I much prefer the HSBC internet banking to Lloyds. Interestingly, I mentioned the ability to see next working day's transaction (HSBC) to Lloyds - and they introduced it!
The security device is a PITA, though.0 -
been with hsbc for donkeys, and their internet banking to me is simple.Bonniepurple wrote: »I much prefer the HSBC internet banking to Lloyds. Interestingly, I mentioned the ability to see next working day's transaction (HSBC) to Lloyds - and they introduced it!

The only gripe I have is the £10k maximum allowed to tranfer, per day.a pain.It has to be more secure than most, because of the machine, and their fastrack is just that, instant, if the recipient is too.0 -
Personally I think that the HSBC website is very secure and easy to use. The ability to see pending transactions is a really good feature which not many banks seem to offer.
Conversely the HSBC mobile banking is absolutely dire. All you can do is look at the last six transactions and it only allows you to view accounts which you have a card for. You cannot pay bills or transfer money between your accounts. I use Barclays as my second account and they really do put HSBC in the shade in many ways, their mobile banking is top notch. I am seriously looking at moving my main banking to Barclays.
They have had a new app out for about 3-4 months that lets you check your balance and make payment to people you have paid before.
