To give an example , if you close the HSBC internet banking page without logging out and then revisit internet banking you will find that you are still logged in

This could pose a problem when using shared computers and all the other banks I deal with would require log in details to be entered again in these circumstances

I found the same problem, it was not a big deal as only I use my computer but nevertheless it does not inspire much confidence. For households who share a computer the afore mentioned scenario could be a real issue.

I also tend to use most of my coins up at self-serve machines too and top up with card if needed.

Larger branches of RBS / NatWest have coin machines too.

Or when in you're in the supermarket, why not throw all your coins into the self-service machines and then, if that's not enough, pay the rest by card??

That's far better and more convenient than going to a branch to use their coin machine, and I never have unwanted coins for more than a week.

I find HSBC's online banking quite poor, compared with many others

Having banked with most of the big banks I actually find HSBC's to be one of the best.

The Santander one grows on you and I have mixed feelings about Nationwide's.

I like the Lloyds/TSB/RBS/Halifax one much less.

I generally prefer to not use self scan where possible, as I prefer Aldi/Lidl's fully manned checkouts!

However NR oyster machines in London are perfect whenever I need change

Too bad they don't take pennies

It will log you out after 10 min if you have done nothing.

    I'm assuming this is sarcasm.....:rotfl:

pleased to make you laugh, but i think i was not making myself clear, rather than being sarcastic.:o......i didnt realise that i could take a load of coins in to Tesco, for example, and pile them into a machine without paying a fee.

HSBC have a coin-paying-in machine at a branch not too far from me, apparently. paying in coins FOC sounds good to me.

Barclays has been the BEST I've used so far.

I agree, Barclays is the best that I have used.

HSBC isn't that bad when compared with Halifax, Coop, Lloyds.

    Just my view

    i find Halifax ok.
currently have 4 current accounts, 1 savings account, 1 credit card. the page is clear & simple.
Barclays, HSBC and Halifax all good.
    Santander is ok.
Co-op Bank is cack....just moving that account to Nationwide, which looks ok to me.

Im still waiting for HSBC to make a decent android APP as Fast Balance doesn't work on 4.22 Android so useless for my Galaxy S4 -_-

RBS have a decent app but HSBC? terrible lol

HSBC has two apps on Android and IOS, I have Fast Balance and HSBC Mobile Banking.

The latter lets you pay bills and transfer money to existing payee's and see the last months transactions. It shows all your acounts if you have a savings or credit card with them also.
