Parking Eye - Parking Charge Notice received today - HELP Please!!

As I have said before, we seem to be the only country where PPCs have got their grubby little hands on motorway service areas and charge for parking. Go to any country in mainland Europe and you can park for as long as you want for free in rest areas.
Service areas are just glorified lay-bys. So why do you have to pay to park in a service area, but not a lay-by? Perhaps that's the next ambition in PPC-land - charge people to park there as well. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -

You can park for free in the UK....as long as you're brave enough to ignore some letters.0 -
Unfortunately the average motorist doesn't know that and pays up.What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Ignore all letters from these scum, unless genuine court papers turn up [in which case come back for further advice].
There is nothing else to be said or considered on this matter
Hi, I have done the ignore thing for all the letters as advised ( with no contact from myself )and now have just been sent a Northampton (CCBC) Claim form - stating I know owe £165.00 (£100 fine, £15 court fee, £50 solicitor's fee)
It has the name Rachel Ledson as the claimants solicitor, It has a response pack inc Admission to claim an payment method and a defence page..
Basically I'm confused. I thought they would go away but this seems to be getting pretty serious - the letters look like the real deal.
What do I do know - Just pay. (sickening for a £1.50 for less than an hour in a car park I have used for years before they installed some cameras i was unaware of.)
Can you help me, I don't know what to do.0 -

You should also post on Pepipoo private parking forum. There are people there who will help with the defence.Je suis Charlie0 -

These rare, speculative small claims can be defended with help from pepipoo.
Parking Eye are looking for victims with weak defences or no defence submitted; you will be neither if you follow the advice given.
PE are not looking to take people to a hearing, IMHO, if the person sends a robust defence. I can see those well-defended cases - like yours will be - just lapsing without a hearing and even if they did take one in front of a judge it's most likely to end up like one of these:
Excel v Hetherington-Jakeman
Excel v Cutts
VCS v Ibbotson
Parking Eye never used to do court but they now are trying in a few speculative cases, to get some 'trophy cases' for their website = victims who panic, defend weakly or stupidly ignore the Court claim. That's their little game and this just requires a defence from here or from pepipoo.PRIVATE 'PCN'? DON'T PAY BUT DON'T IGNORE IT (except N.Ireland).

Hi, following my original post (first one on this thread) whereby I appealed on Parking Eye website attaching my receipt for purchases made whilst parking for just over 2 hours I have today received a letter saying that they need receipts/bank statements to support my appeal!! I have found 2 receipts from that day and showing the times I shopped there and have bank statements showing 2 further purchases that I cannot find receipts for. Can you please advise if I should send a covering letter or just a copy of their letter and the receipts as requested. Many thanks Diane0

Bloody hell who do these people think they are?? You most certainly don't send copies of your bank statements to such companies, they are some of the most unethical companies in the UK. Go and ask your bank what they think of a company asking for bank statements.
Scan the receipts in and send them via email something like this
Dear Parking Eye
Here are the receipts for the date in question. As you can see I was shopping at the establishments. I expect you to cancel this fake parking ticket immediately. Any further harassment from your company in regards to this and I will be minded to issue proceedings against you, and / or report this matter to the relevant authorities. When posting a parking issue on MSE do not reveal any information that may enable PPCs to identify you. They DO monitor the forum.
We don't need the following to help you.
Name, Address, PCN Number, Exact Date Of Incident, Date On Invoice, Reg Number, Vehicle Picture, The Time You Entered & Left Car Park, Or The Amount of Time You Overstayed.

Ask them to show you that part of their terms and conditions which specifies that you have to actually spend money in the shop if you don't want to receive one of their fake tickets. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

Thanks - unfortunately they do not provide an e-mail address so I will send a letter as per your suggestion above together with copies of my receipts. Can I just ask who the relevant authorities would be? Thanks again0
