I would be applying some weedkiller to the freshly cut lawn. This will remove any future need for nocturnal mowing.:A

check with the Noise pollution dept of your local council, it might be an offence to do things like that and dyi after a certain time of day.

There as about as useful as a chocolate fire guard.

11pm? 9pm is too late to even start, many people have kids that are entitled to sleep too. If someone has shifts or works weekends that is their problem, don't inflict it on others with your noise. Plain simple inconsiderate and a good example of why society is going down the drain, no one gives a sheet about anyone else.

If you live around Derby - It was probably me, particularly if the same inconsiderate !!!!!!! left the house at 5:30am to take a car to Newcastle :D Not everyone has the benefit of office hours and days off.

You're young, you'll cope, when I was in my final year I was doing a house up and working full time nights. Plenty of time to sleep when we're dead :A

Whatever hours someone works I still think noise for mowing lawn after 11pm is just rude!

Our neighbour thought it appropriate to put curtains up in their bedroom which was next to ours at 11.30 p.m. at night with a hammer drill.

    It wasn't.

I know it's probably annoying if you have reason to go to bed early but personally I think 11pm is fine, any later and it's a problem. Most leases say to keep noise down between 11pm and 7am which I've always thought to be reasonable.

When it didn't stop, why didn't you just go and have a polite word?

11pm's fine to make noise?? No, it's not.
