@pollycat The reason I published the Stephen Knafler Speech is precisely he can put into words what I and other non Lawyers can't.
Part of my attempt
ing to make a case for Petition sigs is that the Legal community is discovering it's inner Blogger in an attempt to make it's voice known to the wider polity. Blog posts and blogs are but a public aggregation of the current written responses ideas etc to what is happening, is being forced on the public/legal community and trying to work out a response to it.
The original written response therefore or any other kind of online expression are non lawyers like me trying to put into words the awful things they see. Sometimes they get it right like 12 year old Charli Kimmis http://http://thatgirlwholikespolitics.blogspot.co.uk/ but not me who needs to catch up, find her voice and then sock it some!!!!#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

I don't know if I can do the remotest justice to how much both the legal system and Law Firms have been cut cut cut till there is no more to cut
I wish to refuse the idea that they are fat cat lawyers
The only lawyers who really make money are Commercial Lawyers
If only that were true although at least the commercial don't get fat through legal aid.
I know how much just a few piddling little law firms took/try to take off the taxpayer so the sooner all of them have to get their snouts out of the trough the better.
Just like vets bills went through the roof when pet insurance became common place the legal aid system has allowed law firms to get away with absurd hourly rates/fees.
How anyone can consider the following as a reasonable fee beggers belief but it is how (some) law firms try to shaft the taxpayer.
Letter £35 plus a 50% uplift on the entire bill as the case was "complex" (couldn't have been much simpler) but that's £52.50 for one letter.
Was it a war and peace effort?
No it was a letter acknowledging receipt of a letter which was only an acknowledgement letter anyway.
So £52.50 for a letter that did not need sending, just one example of many, at least in this case they didn't get anything for it.0 -

On the other hand I have seen instances of fees being cut to that of a Plumber and the deprofessionalisation planned by Grayling for the Legal Profession ie the use of inexperienced and unqaulified lawyers to do cases way above their competences risking miscarriages of justice.
Perhaps it is a mixed picture.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Look at the icons above - third from right is the 'Quote' box.
Click on this and then you can copy text in.
Please use it, it may just help other posters reading this thread to understand the message you are trying to get across.wouldbeqaulitymoneysaver wrote: »Part of my attempt

WBQMS - are these your words or have you lifted them from somebody else (as usual)?

For the benefit of wouldbeqaulitymonersaver:What are the rules on copyright?
We ask forum users not to copy long text from other publications/websites as it may breach their copyright. If you want to let people know about something you saw or read elsewhere please use short quotes and state where you got them from, preferably by giving a link to the article.
In terms of our copyright, you can post things you've posted here, on other sites, but not posts by other forum users.
I found the above when looking through the MSE forum rules.
If you want your posts to remain, I suggest you follow the rules.0 -

In attendance: Michael Turner QC Head of the Criminal Bar Association, Maura McCowan QC for the Law Society and other key personnel.

If you are convinced.
I believe right is on their side and that's why I wholeheartedly and without qualification support the #saveukjustice Campaign.
Some background information
Grayling has repeatedly refused to meet Michael Turner QC who is quite reasonable when it comes down to the need to save money for the taxpayer.
Thank you MSE Martin and MSE Admin for still keeping this thread open and letting people read.
Thank you to all constructive critics on posting style, hopefully I can correct it and win sigs?#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

That is almost certainly true.
I know there is something called VHHC Cases for which there are Policies.
I think these are unavoidable. One would not wish to exclude them from our financial calculations. All the same we would wish to keep costs under control in every possible way for the taxpayer.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.

Do you have proof that your case would not be handled properly? Or are you yet again regurgitating the crap you have read on biased blogs?
Stobart Law have no Barristers on their books but have taken names of those listed on the Bar Council Direct Access Directory. Good on the Profession for not signing up!

http://www.bbc.co.uk/democracylive/house-of-commons-22857089
May I politely point you to the evidence from Michael Turner QC about that.
You would most likely do a fab job, you would only need to be in the relevant niche specialism built up over many years and we click as one would do when one is surveying the Legal System and thinking 'if push comes to shove' who would fit *my case*.
If you were thinking of Stobart Law DON'T. Stay with your Firm.
I think you need to talk to the commuMnity who are on Twitter.

if you wish to see the amazing followers I have from the Legal Community and see our conversations.
OK to cut to the point; do you think the Legal Community and their Supporters like myself are being too unthinking as to why we endorse the Campaign???
If so please God some way for you to [be able] to talk about it.
If this happens and you end up coming on board then you would be welcome, but I can't speak for the Profession if extremely rare occasions might warrant it, ie something isn't happening and I [try] to yell out!!!
I sometimes wonder if I am not giving into my doubts and fears.
Best wishes on your day today.
I hope my very faltering post somehow has answered your question.:beer:
I also hope any concerns you have about your job security get addressed as well.#TY[/B] Would be Qaulity MSE Challenge Queen.
